Lol. I ran my vin and nothing came up. So I have no recalls. Definitely still something wrong with the truck.

I'm still waiting for my 06 to be recalled since my cruise control hasn't worked for years. The only recalls for my VIN are the leaf springs and gas pedal.

Question for you fellas (and ladies), I need to choose a tire for my truck. I am going 285/75/r17. I have mixed feelings about BFG ATs. In the past, I have had less than stellar results with these. I had a decent run with a couple sets of Toyos. I have heard good things about the Cooper ST MAXX, but I 've not had any experience with them.

My tire vendor is basically giving me a set as a "thank you for your business", so I am not entirely hung up on the cost. I certainly don't want to be a jerk either. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I think I want an All Terrain. I feel like it would get destroyed less on a daily basis during road wear, and they might be a little overkill for the offroad terrain I would most likely see most frequently.

    Thanks in advance.

I have been really happy with my Toyo Open Country AT2's. Although I think next set I wont go E rated. That was purely an AZT driven decision to lessen the change of being stranded in BFE with a flat or two. Low road noise and a pretty solid mileage warranty at 50k

Hard to beat Toyo's. I have had great luck with them on a prior 3/4 ton.
Also really like the Falken Wildpeaks on the Tacoma.

Pull the lower cover under the steering wheel and look on the bottom right side of the clock spring. There will be a connector with a green wire/ red stripe. Shove a paper clip in there and jump a wire from the negative side f the battery to your paper clip. I forget if the key had to be on. So try on and off. If the horn beeps it will confirm it is a bad clock spring. Sadly I just confirmed mine. Good news is there are a handful of people selling new genuine oem ones for around $50
