I actually have HeadStrong’s fox 2.5 front/2.0 rear w/reservoirs kit. Came also with a 3 leaf AAL. I did not have to change my UCA’s

Oh wow, the Fox 2.5 are a lot more expensive but still a nice setup and no UCA. well done.

It’s actually only a few hundred dollar difference. I just didn’t want to buy a setup and regret it a week later. There about 20min from me so just picked up local. I would give Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road a call and talk to her. She’ll point you in the right direction. Not trying to steal your money. She’ll break down what will be needed for what kit and what’s good for your needs.. or wants lol

His setup is not the end all info for needing UCA's. You won't really know if you need them unless you have tires, wheels, and suspension installed on your truck. Every truck will be different. What's his wheel offset? He stated he hasn't even hit the trails with his setup. Ignore this.

I’ve hit trails. But not since I bumped up to 285’s. So yes ignore this.

Thanks man! Well good luck with your choice. Takes time and a lot of confusion. Looking forward to seeing what you go with. Regardless.... enjoy!

Whatever you decide, I would not neglect the rear; it can have a lot to do with how the front feels.
If you have inadequate control of the rear, especially in rebound, it can be transferred to the front. Basically, introducing another hit/cycle to the front suspension as it still recovering from the initial hit/cycle.

Time is right. The confusion part is why I'm here. I realize I take a risk getting potentially conflicting information, but at least it's experienced information and I can exercise some proper judgment and follow a decent path. Right now, I'm leaning towards to 6112/51xx setup.

It's a pretty good setup. If you wish to maintain the performance and ride make sure you don't add any exterior weight. Not 100% sure but I heard the 6112's do not do well when armor is added. Apparently clip setting significantly affects the ride quality when more weight is added and clip settings are changed to account for this (becomes even more stiff). Not sure if this is a concern for OP but adding armor to this suspension seems questionable unless the coil is also accounted for.

You can change the springs out to account for “armor.”

No kidding. But does the OP want to or plan on accounting for that?

    A few minor things...
I'll go out on a limb and say 2wd vs 4wd doesn't really matter because a majority of the time you'll be in 2wd even if you have a 4wd truck. 5100s would be all 5100s. They have kits for less than $500 that'll get ya done that way.

The 6112s go in the front, the 5160s go in the back

    6112: 47-234413

    5160: 25-242539 and 25-242379

You can usually find a kit too... Like this one...

I went with a 3 leaf progressive icon AAL: https://www.amazon.com/Icon-Vehicle-Dynamics-Toyota-1-5in/dp/B00F0R7FWE

UCAs I went with JBA. They were great looking for the price. https://jbaoffroad.com/toyota/jba-std-high-caster-upper-a-arms-for-2005-toyota-tacoma.html

Get some front shock bushings (KBY SM5640 for non OEM, lot cheaper) so you can assemble the front coilover before you take your truck apart.

By armor you mean skid plates?

Will you be adding additional weight to the front end. Skids, bumper, winch, etc. Specifically adding weight to the 6112's once they are on your truck.
