    A few questions for ya':
Have you installed it? If so how's it working? What relay did you buy? Any tips?

I hope to do it soon myself.

    Good Morning TW & @mesojdm ,

I currently own a 2nd gen & I will eventually buy a 3rd gen (2018 or 2019 SR5, 4WD). On my 2nd gen I did the (12V power outlet on all the time mod) via the relay. This way I can charge devices regardless of the ignition being on or off. Works good for overnight camping & it's never drained the trucks battery. I've read most of this post & I have a question that I haven't seen answered here yet. If I do the same 12V outlet mod in my 3rd gen will it interfere with the ECT on all the time mod?

    Thank you

Yes, you need a power supply that comes on with the ignition as a trigger .

Could tap off of the power rear view mirror instead. I tapped here for my radar detector, it comes on with the ignition.

Sorry for the delayed response. I didn’t know that the rear view mirror had power going to it. Do ALL 3rd gens have power going to the mirror? If so that’s a great idea. Thank you.

Think so, look for auto dimming with compass mirror. The other power mirror has homelink as well.

I posted up a DIY using Meso's connectors, an arduino, and a small solid state relay. I tried to make a video but most of it came out blurry :/

This one comes out pretty small and you can turn the auto feature on and off by holding the ECT button for 5 seconds. That lets you switch between factory mode (manual activation) and auto mode where it turns on each time you turn the car on.

    Guide is here

I'm still working on my site...there's an annoying pinterest thing on the pictures and I need to figure out how to rid of that, among a lot of other changes.

Haha, thanks, I've had the page and code done for a while, but I actually put it all together today and tested it before I made the post and added the final pics.

Playing with arduinos is always fun

Mine is coming along. Just waiting on a few parts (Piezo and Relay).

Chose to use the same Relay that @DaMaDo used to keep the footprint small and the solid state should be more reliable.

Was able to use the same enclosure as my dome light module just cut down on the height a bit.

I was thinking about it maybe. But I would need @mesojdm 's approval. Not sure if he is going to continue them or not. Not seeing them on his site anymore.

Hopefully Meso will come through with some more modules for us that want them.

    That looks awesome! Very professional.

I was too lazy to make a case.

Flash1034 - I won't be selling mine. I'm just offering a low cost guide for DIY.
