Can you send a link to this itty bitty pulley you found? Like last time I'll rig this up myself and deprive @Roostfactor of the revenue.

By the way, to everyone inquiring about tensioners I found a direct alternative which appears to have a different design implemented and travel is much more allowed on this one over previous variants of different manufacturers. I even may consider buying it because it looks better built.

Peep the design of the stops on the second picture.

This tension/pulley epidemic is interesting to say the least. This is nothing new. Lots of people were driving ratios compatible to a 2.5 inch pulley and shorter belts way back in 2008 in the xrunner community. And never once heard of anybody breaking a tensioner.

I’m still going to say if TRD and then Magnuson built say 6,000 SC blowers in the past 11 years. AC Delco made all the tensioners and there are only 10 known defects from a statistical stand point that’s a highly reliable product!

YOU GUYS, THERE ARE BILLET VERSIONS OF OUR TENSIONERS AVAILABLE! And they have been right in front of our face all this time! Looks like Ford is not so useless after all. ;)

    - If you want a 2 piece reinforced version of a stocker, Steeda makes one for $165, readily available on most websites, including Amazon.

    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FSteeda-Tensioner-Bracket-Billet-Mustang%2Fdp%2FB06XKY97LV&ved=2ahUKEwjs3K2dupveAhVhZN8KHfCoDUI4ChAWMAZ6BAgDEAE&usg=AOvVaw1O0SZaHxcGpbjNkyKRwRB3

    - If you want a fully fabricated version with a stronger spring and much more beef than the Steeda, UPR makes one for $199. (This is the one I just bought and will be running).

    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAJegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw0scI6cJvrv2x1jIp1yzLkh

Also found on Mustangs Unlimited Performance and a bunch of other sites, as well as UPR direct through Ebay.

    - There is also a version made by Thump. Much too overpriced, and the UPR and Steeda are much more viable/affordable choices.

    https://www.lethalperformance.com/t...let-aluminum-belt-tensioner-w-76mm-idler.html

    - There is a version made by Rousch, but it looks lame and all you pay for is a cool Rousch logo. No thanks.

    https://www.americanmuscle.com/roush-heavy-duty-belt-tensioner-0510-gt.html

Much love homies! I will update page 1 shortly with this newly found revelation.

You have to remember that this tensioner has been run on a lot more than our own trucks. Apparently all the Terminator's, Lightning's, Explorer's and even Expedition's ran this tensioner. I KNOW in their boosted community the guys broke theirs. To say we are the only ones who had issues at this point is no longer an accurate thing to say.

You might want to check and make sure, swapping pulleys was my original plan but I don't know the size of our pulleys vs. what it comes with (76mm). A simple visual comparison will tell you everything you need to know before proceeding.

As soon as I get it I'm throwing it on. Should be straight forward but like with anything aftermarket I'll have to check and make sure everything is on the up and up beforehand. I'll report more as I go. I should see it by the end of this week if all goes well.

This should be a nice mod to line up with my Fleetrunner belt. :D ... cha ching!

They are sold in Satin and in Polished. At least the UPR is. I got Satin because I don't like to overstate my engine bay. :)

Vera nice. Do you think a stronger spring tension will be a good thing? Curious to learn that.

Yes. From my research many Eaton and Whipple blowers slip due to the fact that there is not enough tension on the belts. There is a mod specifically for the tensioners of the Mustangs to increase belt tension by as much as 40%.

    This is a great find!!!
Let's get some data on this.
If you can, throw the new and old tensioner in a vise and use a torque wrench to see what the difference in spring tension is. Just make sure leverage is equal on both and if you are using a breakaway torque wrench to adjust it accordingly for the most accurate measurement.
Once again great find and looking forward to your findings!

Keep in mind many of their systems ADD the sc to the existing serpentine belt where ours is a dedicated sc belt.
You dont want to add too much tension or you will fry all the pulley bearings.
