I like having a 360* view for sure. If I'm going to be in a hurry to tear down in the moring I generally leave the awning at the head of the tent (opposite the ladder) and sides down to save time. And it i s nice beig able to poke my head out of the tent to have a look around before actually exiting...just in case some furry critter might have wandered into camp. That being said there are more times that I wished I had an overhang to protect hte ladder and me from getting wet while entering/exiting the tent.

I've had mine for nearly a year and half, I use it all the freaken time and it's still kicking strong. Best thing about it tho, I paid $712 bucks for it during a 4WP parking lot sale and also bought an additional 3 years no questions asked additional warranty that was offered at the time of purchase for 75 bucks

Mine was $999.00 shipped to my house, I've had it for just over a year and it has seen a lot of use. Only complaint is from my wife who sad I need a better mattress pad.

So far, the roofnest. Ease of setup being reason #1. I like not having to unzip a cover or take a cover completely off. I also like the Roofnest because I could camp in snow or rain and not have a "soft" roof. (The Roofnest that I have, Sparrow X, has a roof rack built in with 100# capacity)

I have a Waypoint Hardshell (ChandlerDooms). I love it. Some features I want to add, but it's great. I came from a CVT Mt. Shasta and I just can't handle one of those by myself loading/unloading packing/unpacking.

I just wanted to know your opinion, seems the same as mine!

    what is the roof rack?

Mine is essentially the same as yours. Im not sure if I'll ever use the roof rack, but for the same cost as the one without, why not? Also I might have preferred to have your price tag (mine was 2500 shipped). I am not 100% convinced that the cost is worth it. I know there are others that are more. And I know Chandlerdoom isn't doing the Waypoint one anymore. So i guess its verified.

This is what the roof rack looks like (when I was unboxing) :

oh gotcha that is pretty cool! not that I'd ever put anything up there because they're already tall enough windbreaks as it is, but it's still a need option.

yeah the $1,500 price tag sold me, glad I got in the first round of those tents.

After I bought mine, a few people were selling their Waypoint tents. But its ok. I just should try to hold onto this one for more time than the last ones. I do use it alot. Probably 2 times per month, at least.

yeah thats definitely more than I do. I'm lucky to get out twice a year, but usually one of those is a week trip so gets a few uses. They're just too easy lol, and it should hold up for years to come so will definitely be worth the money.
