My totally redneck clean up of the engine bay is to spray it all down with EasyOff oven cleaner, give it about 30 minutes to work, and lightly pressure wash it off. Sometimes the really greasy oil soaked areas require another treatment. After it's clean, spray it all down with WD40. Just try not to get to much cleaner on the painted surfaces or leave it too long. It will take the lettering off the fuse box. I do this about once a year, for the last 14 years, with no issues. YMMV Usual legal disclaimer, do so at your own risk.

I just cover the battery, fuse box and alternator with plastic grocery bags because I'm paranoid about it, then spray degreaser on most everything and do a light mist of water over it until it all washes off. Never had an issue except for one time, afterward I started my truck and my clutch pedal wouldn't come all the way up but it went to normal after a few minutes. Probably hit the clutch slave cylinder too hard with water or something.

Woah, oven cleaner! I don't have the balls to use that as I know how caustic that stuff is. Heck I won't even use most degreasers like Purple Power or Simple Green at full strength because of all the different types of materials found under the engine bay. Purple Power will turn aluminum dark if left on too long.

On my 3.4L I don't cover anything, not even the battery or alternator. Never harmed anything. The only time I cover stuff (on other vehicles) is if it has a distributor, fuses or circuit breakers for audio, or aftermarket fuse boxes.

alright so one more wheel spacer question, and probably a dumb one but I'm not really sure...do people only put them on the front or do you do front/rear? Since they're sold in pairs I'm assuming it's "normal" to just put them on the front? I feel like having a visibly wider front stance and narrower rear would look weird.

I know lots of LT guys put them in the rear for that same reason, looks weird if narrow in the rear. I would think the rear with spacers is actually safer than the front. I'm a avoid spacer kind of guy & have never needed to run any but lots of my friends run spacers on all four corners without issues. But none of them are trucks though.

The whole everything is wrong, tail, wings, cockpit and again, not radial. I'm thinking is an American trainer plane painted up like a nazi aircraft for an old movie plane or something
