Thanks so much. One more question. I can't find where to print the TSBs from. Ideas?

This thread. A PDF of TSB-0058-18 Rev 1 is attached to the OP. TSB-0125-18 is buried somewhere around Page 70 or Page 80?

Definitely. Before the update, 40mph or so was about a low as I could putter around in 6th, including slight grades. 35 is doable. About 30 on the flat roads.

No problem. Hopefully, your dealer treats you right and you're good to go.

Thanks tone, I’ll take it from here.

I haven’t got this update either, so we’re in this together. I really didn’t feel like arguing with service clerks that drive kias, but I’m feeling this. What we need to do is make copies of both TSB’s, as suggested, and when we go in we both need to be “in the zone”, put your social engineering face on. Whatever you have to do to get pumped, I don’t know. For me, i sugar load for about an hour, doesn’t matter what. Kit kats, snickers, I’ll even hide some Reese’s pieces in my socks for backup if I feel a crash during the fiasco. But yeah, sugar load, listen to inspiring music on the way like slayer or kill em all era Metallica. When you get face to face, remember, they’re EMPLOYEES of whoever. Don’t make eye contact, stare at one of their earlobes (looking off to their side) and speak in the third person as loud as you can. This is where the sugar kicks you into high gear. Put in a mouthpiece and be ready to spar. The rule of thumb here is to ESCALATE.

Perfect. As a retired Navy Chief and the father of a Marine, I'll get my game face on and be ready to throw it down. I'll likely wait until my 5k service, but I will post my results. Heading out to get the Reese's Pieces now.

The actions of the dealer seems to be all over the board. We shall see.

My truck is currently in for the 5000 mile service (haven't picked it up yet), tried to get this done - armed with all the information on the forum. Dealer claimed multiple times they couldn't do it because it only applies to automatics. When pressed they said they "can't even download the software" for it, and claimed to have contacted Toyota who agreed. Any further suggestions to get this done? Anyone know of a dealer either in the Seattle or Portland area that will do it?

*Edit* This is Toyota of Seattle

I had a suspicion that my dealer (Rodland in Everett) would have tried for me. At the 5k service I was feeling vibrations due to the needle bear right up to the moment that I schedule the service. They said that they believed me and ordered the TSB parts without even test driving it. I loaded the ECU update myself since I was about 1,000mi out from the 10k service and just could not be patient.

So, you might give them a try? Also, I've heard good things about Micheal's Toyota in Bellevue. Folks said that they stock the ECGS bushing and don't screw around with the needle bearing with dealing with that.

Also, I believe someone around here has a Tactrix cable?

Yeah, this is Toyota of Seattle. Apparently they have paperwork for me documenting why they can't do it... We'll see when I pick it up. I'll give Bellevue a call tonight and see what they say. Has anyone had issues taking their truck in for service after doing the software update themselves? Thanks!

Here's an idea... how about a map of dealers that have been confirmed to have done this work? I have created such a map... so find your post where you confirmed the update, and save the post number link, and then go here and search for the dealer on the map. Click the pencil to edit the entry and paste the link you saved. That way people should be able to look at the map and quickly find not only the nearest dealer who will do the work, but also the post to the confirmation.

    Good idea? Or no?

I didn't yet look at the map, but how hard would it be to have "this dealer did the update" and "this dealer did not do the update"... that way people don't have to waste time with dealers who refuse to budge too.

And that being said, I am still willing to help anyone in my area (Phoenix) with the update if needed. I have the Tactrix cable and have done the update 6 times now helping people.

Cool idea! I will do it as layers... one for DEALER-WILL-UPDATE and one for DEALER-WILL-NOT-UPDATE

    Added one for MEMBER-WILL-UPDATE too

Please select the correct layer when you make changes!

I like the idea, especially being a GIS guy. Maybe color code them too Red/No - Green/Yes? I added a point too
