I am in agreement with this, that's the reason we want 1.05 to be as close as possible to what a majority of drivers want without having to go through multiple small changes and tweaks.
This is part of why it's such a time consuming process. I mean sure I could release it now, and then get a wave of people, in the hundreds asking to tweak this, tweak that, etc.

Which is why we are taking feedback and making changes right now. There is only so many ways I can drive the truck to test things and what I can test and experience isn't identical to someone in Colorado, or the heat or Arizona.

That way if we get feedback and data from multiple different sources, we can take that, implement it, and then the "fix" someone would have requested was already accomplished beforehand.

Part of the reason it takes so long, and has been delayed is simply there is so many parts to the shift control.

I could likely release the MT 1.05 first but I wonder if that would just make AT owners more riled up.

Who in Colorado has been testing? 1.05 not the legal weed, please.

Why not just release a beta 1.05 to everyone since we're all waiting and tell everyone to pound sand while you perfect the tune the way you want? Then release 1.05 final when you're ready. Who says that anything you release needs to be the final version?

Fair point for sure. As Mat has just eluded to (and something I forgot about in my post) is that he already has data from non-stock trucks. There may be outliers *cough stepchild cough* in any case though, which will benefit from custom tuning. In that case I'm talking obvious undesirable symptoms, should they flare up.

I think he requested testers have access to 93. So no one in Colorado is likely testing.

Newbie here; I joined today really just to be able to say THANK YOU to the world, and all of you, for this forum, this thread, and (very soon) this re-tune. I've owned my truck since April and I love the off-roading but it's been driving me nuts that it seems to have been built to decelerate. I'm happily joining the queue for 1.05 (and MAN that was a long thread to get through...).

That makes sense, when I heard that you were offering to do custom tuning for each individual buyer of your tune, I thought perhaps you had some sort of software algorithm that reads the data sent by the customers and spits out a tune that made various adjustments according to a pre-determined set of parameters. My friend and I had a chuckle of you being literally buried in custom tune requests.

Is there going to be a list of major common mods that you will list for us to say "Hey if you did this to your truck then let me look at the data for your custom tune" or will you attempt to address every and each one independently upon request because I don't know how you be able to have the time for that.

IF you're being serious, how exactly would the release of an M/T tune (that's done) to a few people affect the A/T owners? I mean, how much time would you have to dedicate to releasing the M/T tune?

TBH, we ALWAYS have to wait for them and I get it... that fucking bipolar thing behind their engines needs a lot of attention.

If MT owners got 1.05 first, the AT guys could just suck it up and deal with it and wait. What are they going to do, abandon OVT and trade in their trucks because they had to wait a bit longer? AT owners traditionally get stuff before MT owners, and not just where OVT is concerned. MT owners know this and so I doubt we'll be upset about having to wait when we already knew we would have to anyway, but on the other hand, it wouldn't hurt anybody to release the MT 1.05 first. After all, the AT side has had versions prior to the MT side before, the most recent example being 1.04R

This is coming from someone who has zero issues with 1.04R and previous versions, and so it literally doesn't matter to me when 1.05 drops. If I have to wait a few months, fine. Doesn't bother me.

Yep only 91 here. I am back on stock tune with TSB after running 91 1.03 for 9 months. The new TSB has made the trans better but I could tell the difference in power even with a minimally loaded truck. Stock tune and mid grade was shifting down to 3rd quite a bit heading up the big hill in the fast lane while the 1.03/91 would haul ass up that hill in 4th with significantly more weight including the RTT. I will say the stock tune is way better than what I remember from a year ago and trans is much smoother when shifting but amazing what an extra 30-40 lbs of torque does for this truck at altitude and with taller tires.

@OVTune It shouldn't matter who's first. If it's not ready for us Auto owners because of shifting but is ready for MT owners. Let them go first. No sense holding them up. It's all good.

As far as throttle goes, I'd say release M/T and see what the feedback is

If Matt were to release the MT tune first, what would happen to those of us with a MT waiting for the handheld.

You should still have your dongle or access via your dongle-less license, especially if you elected to not turn in your dongle (if you have one)

Agree with this. Re-geared folkss are a very small percent, especially when 33” tires or less don’t really require re-gearing. I just hope everyone is thankful for the 1.05 update because no matter what it will be better than 1.04.

Unfortunately it's going to get worse now that the M/T cat is out of the proverbial bag lol. I mean, he didn't have to say shit about it. Applaud the honesty.
