Ah yeah that axle shaft and tube are both ~$140 each. Probably won't be going that route.

Someone is selling a full set of manual hubs, steering knuckles, and the ADD Tube for $500.

Just can't justify buying all that with a set of CVs and AISIN hubs already purchased. And pickup local only. But I've already gone the extra mile keeping ABS so what's an extra couple hundred. Especially since I've made my money back on the 4Runner parts truck.

I just put this up on the workbench and hang an LED lamp to supplement the low light output of the lamp inside.
If I'm blasting anything larger I hang some tarps next to the garage and use this thing. Nothing fancy.

12020B38-9263-454A-B1B8-D460E23EACB2.jpg My buddy picked this up for me in Austin for $50. 1998 Tacoma manual tubed 4:10. @BartMaster1234

This diff saw a lot more off-road use than my 4Runner diff. I’ll be using it for parts to convert to manual tube. Then just hold onto it as a spare.

Crazy good deal. I paid $175 for my manual tube only.

Put the parts all together just to get a look at them. I’m an idiot and bought black FIPG instead of orange/red.

So I’m going to the dealer tomorrow and hopefully they have some in stock.

You have the right FIPG. It’s only red/orange from the factory to show that it is hasn’t been tampered with. Aftermarket FIPG will always be Black.

Did you change the axle seals?

Did the axle seals. Swapped a better bearing in the manual tube side. The guy sold me that manual diff for $60 because instead of doing the bearings he just bought another front diff. I had Toyota FIPG black and decided to grab the orange/red instead. I know aftermarket FIPG is basically no different to OEM but I decided to just get the stuff from the dealer.

Differential is sealed as well as the axle tube. Mounting arms are bolted on and I torqued everything to spec. Working on transfer case right now.

@BartMaster1234 So those two parts (#15)4351535010 and (#17)9056052001 are an ABS rotor and a spacer? Between my ADD 4Runner hubs and my Prerunner hubs I should have whatever piece is needed or I have another order to make. I have every other part lined up on my workbench but those.

Next week I'll have some extra free time so I'm going to see what the cost of getting a shop to press the bearings in vs buying a 20 Ton press for $90 locally and following the guide @Timmah! made on it.

I honestly have no idea. I just bought complete manual hub steering knuckles for my truck already and sold the old 2WD ones.

https://youtu.be/dDivFqFQCus?t=287 Found a video fitting my situation. So it sounds like I can just purchase the ABS rotor and be good to go.

What’s the current state of the 4Runner?

Thing is pretty rough now. If the frame was solid I would've probably tried to save it. I've sold the sunroof assembly, front doors, front seats, and random trim. I've made my money back on it so I think it was a solid purchase. I'm planning on gutting the rest of the interior and bringing it to get scrapped with the seized engine sitting in the back.

Transfer case, front diff, front driveshaft, and transmission. I have everything I need off it for the conversion and all those parts were in surprisingly great condition for 299K. Of course I’m only using the transmission for the output shaft.

The 4Runner died today. I got everything of value out of it almost. Only major things I wish I could've taken were the windshield and steering wheel. Originally I was told this yard wouldn't crush the car immediately and needed a steering wheel and wheels to move it around. Well I had time for a front loader to pick it up and let me take the lugs off the wheels. No time to find a torx bit and get that mint condition leather steering wheel. I'm in the process of listing the remaining parts for sale.

Oddly enough there was a green 1998 5 speed 4x4 parked in town with NM plates in similar shape to mine. I've been trying to get in contact with the owner of it as it had been abandon for months. On our way to crush my 4Runner it was still sitting in the same lot it had been since May. On the way back the it had vanished. San Angelo is two 4x4 4Runners less now.

The 4x4 conversion is going down this week. The only thing in my way is convincing a shop that the A340F and A340E are basically identical. For some reason the shop I talked to originally might be backing out on it. If that happens I'm going to have to get it done out of town. Otherwise I have a 20 ton press, the knowledge and guides to assemble the hubs with it, a reputable machine shop to shorten my driveshaft, and two friends that have been helping me this entire journey.

Your picture doesn't seem to be working.
