I have always been a "heavy foot" kind of driver and my 4 cylinder Tacoma access cab does not get up to speed like I want it to when in bad traffic. How much would a performance chip really change the acceleration of the truck?

Pedal Commander is the best bang for your buck. It messes with your throttle response. It is honestly pretty fun for "spirited driving"

Yes sir. Personally don't have it on all the time because the truck gets good MPG's without it. (trucks on 265's and 3rd gen 2.7 has 4.3 gear ratio)

But when it is on, it definitely fun, especially offroad.
