I do enjoy a manual, when in the mood. 75% of my driving is commuting and the AT does fine for that. When I feel the need to row gears, I jump in the fun bucket and let it sing. I could handle a manual in my taco too, but wife’s not a big fan of manuals so.... c’est la vie.

Not a big deal either way.

Please release 1.05 to the MT people. Maybe they will all quit crying in this thread and go drive their trucks. I'd love to see the ratio of AT to MT 3rd gen Tacomas sold, and more importantly, the ratio of AT to MT OVTune packages sold to 3rd gen Tacoma owners. Not really sure why those people think they need such special treatment here. More pedals = better!

The easy choice for me was so that I could have more attention on my new-born. AT is great for commuting

I don’t think there were any balls there to put back. This is finding some balls and strapping them on!

Damn, if I was home I could get some high elevation testing done. 6700ft base and easy access up to 12k.

LOL, last I checked, the ratio of tune prices MT:AT is 1:1. I paid for it just like you did.

A/T is already getting exponentially more "love" than M/T, since Mat's R&D truck is an auto. I get it, he even said why - most of the market is auto.

At some point though, there needs to be a M/T mule or long term loaner in the stable. You can only do so much remotely. Oh and more dyno time.

I think I'll actually stick around, the shitshow is going to be epic.

MT were a lot better off then the AT were to start with. I've got both and I preferred a manual because of its amazing anti theft properties and being able to control my gear. His biggest challenge has been the shift tables and multiple different code tables that Toyota pawned off from what I've read between the rants.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but once you tune the motor its the same for the AT or the MT which is with Mat is already done with the MT files essentially? Smoothing out and correcting the automatic shift tables for normal/modified/extreme trucks seems to be the finishing touches at the moment?

Most days I live to stir the pot which is why I keep up with this monstrosity of a thread.

Plot twist: 1.05 has been done for weeks and Mat is just sitting back, enjoying his coffee and the break from work lol

That’s because we don’t have something to play with all the time. Idle hands and the devils work.
