on 33s/stock gears I was about 15-16mpg.

on 35s/stock gears I was about 10mpg.

on 35s/4.88s I'm back to about 14.5-15mpg.

will keep monitoring.

yeah I'm more than happy with ~15mpg with my setup. I'm about to have the camper shell of to shed weight and it will be a bed rack, most likely with the RTT pretty much full time, but that still weighs less than the shell lol.

I've got lots of weight on the truck, especially in the tires..

 

SOS. Eddy already has it built I do believe...I had him modify his standard bedrack to be as tall as his bestop bedrack so my tent will sit over my cab (since I have a hard shell tent), but I'm not getting a softtopper and liked the rail mounting of the standard rack better.

for sure, makes great stuff. I have his skids too. I had my bumpers/sliders custom made by local guys.

 

I think I’ll be getting the SSO slimline bumper up front. I love the look of a full bumper...and I’m torn but it’s so much extra weight up front to where the SSO is 35-40lbs over OEM

 

Of course I say that and watch I’ll end up with a CBI bumper

 

Yea I agree. My only worry is approach angles. I’m currently planning a trip to Moab next year with a guy I met at Atlanta Takeover. Gonna try and get a group together and I just sometimes worry about approach angles and the bumper hitting before the tire does on some ledges out there, especially on 33’s

 

Oh I totally agree budget wise. I’m just torn, I don’t wanna buy it then regret not having more clearance up front and then end up tryna sell it to make a bigger purchase lol. But I learned from my last trip to Hawk Pride that a winch needs to be my next upgrade and in order to do that gotta buy a bumper so I’m at a crossroads lol

 

I really like my aluminum CBI bumper. Has held up great so far and doesn't weight the truck down... until you add a winch of course. The winch weighs more than the bumper.

actually no, don't listen to me. I've made good and bad decisions with the truck haha. I don't believe the "buy once cry once" motto because a lot of us like change and want to mix it up sometimes. very few people modify their truck then don't ever change the mods they've done.

 

Yeah.... like me. I'm contemplating building a hybrid tube bumper for my truck once I get all the tooling.

I NEED HOOPS. ALL OF THEM.

 

i like the aluminum up front and steel rear bumpers.

baja style bumpers are light similar to what All-Pro had

 

I freaking love hybrid bumpers. I was sold for the longest on a full plate bumper, before I had ever even seen a hybrid, but I had to change once I saw one. There's things I'd still change about my current bumper but I love it still. Vehicles are just fun to change.

 

Agreed. So what exactly would you change?

 

I might make the side bars that point out towards the fenders longer and curve back a little more with the body line.

amen. each is on their own schedule/budget. do it as it suits you.

if you'd like you can experience stupid decisions vicariously through me haha! my truck went from nothing to EVERYTHING in a very short period of time...

 

I just want to know, in making a front bumper and skid plates is there anyway to improve the center clearance where it bolts to the support at the bottom.

I'm talking about the metal where the front IFS skid bolts, could it be cut and moved up an inch or a few. If I was at home I'd peak for myself.
