Official Patch and Sticker BST thread

It's more of a "print" on the fabric. The outer edge is sewn. Someone run with this idea.

 

Yeah, kinda looks like a Mirror image silk screen sorta deal there.

 

I'm sure I'm not the only one that would by one or a few of these...

 

Ill try working on something in the morning.

Again, not sure of the fabrication process, but I already made a pro taco decal so I have some of the truck template already.

I had to start from scratch. Since its print, I can/have to put alot more detail into it. Its already looking good so far though.

Starting to remember why I went the decal route. These freaking trucks just have so many curves and details...

Guys, before you copy another maker's design style... you should probably reach out to them first.

It's just courtesy.

 

The only thing being copied is the idea. All the artwork is original. The rights to anything related to stranger things belongs to Netflix anyway.

 

Okay, let me put it this way: How do you know he doesn't have a Tacoma version already that he hasn't released yet? Have you reached out to Blake?

This is something that while is definitely a cool idea, does tread into a "grey area" with patch designs, the patch maker community and what is considered "common courtesy" as I said.

I don't own the entire world of "everything tacos" (nor do I want to) but if someone makes a taco with crossed out eyes and a tongue sticking out... Well, I won't be happy about it.

Not sure if your goal is to come up with the design and then send it out to have patched or what but I'm just trying to save you some grief that you could get from other people.

Blake is well respected in the Toyota-themed patch community and he came up with the Stranger Rigs design last year as part of his Cruiser Gear series. He has done tacoma themed patches before too so that's why I'm adding my $0.02 about this.

That patch was done with dye sublimation, by the way.

I've worked with Blake before and he's good people. Chances are, he won't have any problems with it so this is just a conservative viewpoint based on what I've seen happen before when a patch comes out that is very similar to another prior release.
