They are a good option but not a lot of postings and doesn’t work with cellphones very well. I do use it for The people I do watch like inrange and forgotten weapons that post there.

True. But if YT actually does start taking things down (in mass and more than they have been) itll gain.

But really for building/assembly/disassembly I actually prefer picture guides over videos. I cant keep up with most videos so having a picture is much easier for me

Awesome, thanks. It's not going to be a gun I put a lot of .454 through, just enough to stay accurate with that round. Heard that shooting .45 out of it is a fun time. Been reading on the good old inter webs that .44mag is the littlelist you want to carry for the grizzly bears. Then of course the peeps say to go with the .454 over the .44 Ruger Alaskan.

Yea, those work well. 25 and older seems to be the cut off of text vs image gen lol. I think I used a dyi guide for my first one except the lower. On my first lower I did YouTube. That lower has been on two uppers and I don’t know how many thousands of rounds. It’s been good so far at two gun, but most of the time I use a lwrci ic 14.5 pinned so it’s not getting too much use outside of sitting in the car as a backup if my lwrci goes down during a 2gun.

    Long time lurker here.

Caved and bought a ruger American 300blk with 16 inch threaded barrel. Put a Nikon blk optic on. Primarily i wanted a hog gun since it's a "rainbow round" thats "not suited for precision over 75 yds"....

    Boy was I surprised!

Went on a hunt this last weekend and my longest shots was an axis doe ~120yds (ran about 25 yds) and a fallow spike at 100yds. Doe was a double lung/heart and the fallow was a spine (dropped in place).

I would, however, not recommend shooting a blackbuck doe at ~20yds as it blew a beer can sized exit hole.

Yesterday I picked up my first 308 bolt gun in 20+ years. Savage 10PT-SR outfitted with a Primary Arms 4-14x44 FFP Mil-Dot. It pairs up nice with the Century C308 I got the other day. It's wearing a Primary Arms 5x Prism.

As someone living and fishing/hunting bear country a large part of the year, I wouldn’t go any less than .44mag.

But also as someone who personally knows three different people who have been attacked/mauled by bears, you probably won’t have time to get any gun out and make an accurate shot regardless of the caliber. Especially if you surprise a bear on a thickly vegetated trail or some sort of close quarters encounter.

Yep, everything I read said minimum .44mag for grizzlys.

I just want to be as prepared as possible for a bear encounter. Best case scenario is I won't ever have to fire the gun in a self defense situation. Grizzlies have a top speed of 35mph which I can imagine is just terrifying seeing a 800lbs bear headed your way wanting to kill you. Best thing is to be bear aware and make noises.

    ?
Are the PC models different than the standard ones? I swapped the sights on mine (standard Shield) out for a set of tritium units and it only took like 10 minutes. They were just a basic dovetail. :notsure:

Wrong sights? Maybe standard trying to fit on a shield PC?

Gunsmith swapped mine fairly quickly; granted I don't have a front sight anymore.

They came factory with a set of fiber optic sights...I put on tfx pros...the pros were easy to install....removing the front sight sucked

Just a basic dovetail but apparently S&W just crunches them in with a hydraulic press whether they fit or not...so these were STUCK

took a day of soaking with penetrating oil and a big hammer and punch to remove

Anybody know where to find a Holosun HS507C in stock? Optics planet claims the backorder will be filled in 1-2 weeks, Midway USA says that backorder is overdue. I'm not sure if they're currently in production or not, or how long backorders will take to fill.

Edit: GlockStore may have them in stock, will call tomorrow to confirm.
