By my calculation, that means 3% more overall airflow. Not a ton but still something.

    How long without a lift?

I plan on finding a long weekend to do this.

Took me a whole day to install mine. I wasn't as mechanically inclined as I am now, though. Although they're not the URD equal length, I'm sure those would be much worse.

It's better with 2 guys. Stubborn stud removal ate 3 hours on me. Be careful of the steering shaft. That bit me too.

@12TRDTacoma do you have more info on that oil capacity upgrade for our trucks? You kind of mentioned it in passing on the main page of this thread...

True could be just the carrier bearing is worn out. I started noticing it a couple weeks ago and it’s progressively worse. Mine only seems to vibrate at lower speeds such as 10mph - 30mph. It may be doing it at higher speeds but I can’t hear it over tires and wind.

Thinking about going with a Tom Woods driveshaft and having my stock one modded with the double cardan. Then which ever one works best will stay on the truck and the other can be a spare.

You got a build thread for it yet?

I was having some driveshaft issues just a couple weeks ago on the taco. part of it was due to it being candy stripped from a past wheeling trip. it was out of balance and needed to be re-tubed. I'm still running my IEDLS CB and it has been doing great. truck is nice and smooth again. new ECGS needle bearing went in too at the same time, so its all smooth all around now.

and no.. not yet. I guess I should. I have just been posting it all in my regular build.

As far as the drive shafts, this is what I know

Tom woods shaft is good unless you regear, then it will be spinning too fast, so then people get a stock style w/ double cardan. Safest bet is probably the stock style one, especially since we probably drive faster than most of TW.

Mine is between 5-15 MPH. I have Spicer U-joints and the IEDLS bearing on hand, waiting for the time to do the rebuild.

When I was at Roostfactor’s on operation balls out mod weekend, I was surprised at how much the valve was actually still cracked open from the factory when “closed”. We fixed that when these pics were taken. With the cooler weather I’ve hit 11psi. Mostly a solid 10.5 to 10.75 with a healthy strong pull. You have to hear the ting when adjusting to be good, as long as you don’t hear the thump which means you went to far on the adjustment.
