You really like that upper portion of the 4Runner console huh.

Aren’t the 01-04 consoles bigger in terms of storage capacity?

Does the runner console have the little space under the arm rest too?

I can describe better if needed.

Are you referring to the “double decker” design of the center console?

Makes sense. Less space, less junk. I do like the cup holders the 01-04 console gives you. The square cup holders on the 95-00 consoles never get old.

Do you prefer the floor mounted parking brake, or the pull-type under the dash?

Double decker set up, I’m 6 hours into the day, being mental and physical wore is a good reason to not make sense

Took me forever to find one of those consoles. One of the best investments I’ve made for the interior of the truck.

I love the 02 console compared to the 99, no more spileed coffee from the squares.

And There’s a rubber holder on the back

Oh that lil’ secret compartment that doesn’t seem to have any use? Haha.

I bunjee corded a tissue box back there. I store emergency cash in that little cubby.

I do have that nice JBL Stealthbox sitting in my 5-Lug waiting to be installed in the PreRunner. Just not sure if I want to sacrifice the space yet.

I actually use the rear seats to carry passengers fairly frequently.

    They all hate me.

Oh, I thought that console you had was from a 4Runner. Don’t you have a 4Runner?

Another thing I noticed from pulling parts from both Tacomas and 4Runners is just how much more care goes into the 4Runner design. A lot of the body panels and molding have added sound dampening material.

For example, the trim that covers the shifter console has dampening material throughout. Including inside the Transfer Case boot.

I never saw this with the Tacoma.

I have an eye glass screwdriver which has always worked in the past. I know what you mean about the retaining clip, but I couldn't for the life of me see one. Gave up and warmed up the soldering iron. High beams work again. I'll call it a success.

I love my 01-04 center console but to be fair I've never seen the T4R console in person. I love the space of the 01-04 console. The bottom is deep, holds all the stuff I don't use often but need. I don't collect junk in mine.

I'd love to have a center mount pull up type e-brake handle..... because dooorift! Lol

What's this rubber holder you speak of? I don't think I have one?

I think using the Pimp Cane brake for drifting would be dope though

Ah I see, I was confused cause he said rubber. Mine is not rubber. I use that to store a tape measure for when I go to the metal supply store & a pair of Surefire earplugs.
