Can you share some pics? I’ve been thinking I might want to tint the rear window too.

I have a 2nd gen, but I do have their tailgate reinforcement. It is a little lower than the oem tailgate cover. I added kb voodoo bed rail caps so the bed rails would be closer in height to the tailgate.

Just a data point for comparison...

May 12th: Order placed. On the receipt my number was #163

June 8th: Received an email update saying that my build date was scheduled for October 21st.

August 1st: Received email introducing the LeaderBoard. My number jumped around a bit but has settled at #118.

October 3rd: Received the request to fill out the Google form for build specifics which also had the updated build start date of 10/29.

October 10th: Completed and submitted the Google form (selected 'contact me about custom colors' option on most choices).

    ...radio silence since...

I think these guys are doing a great job and I am really excited about the product, just a little concerned with the drop in communication as others have mentioned as well.

I completed my survey about the same time. From what I understand, we'll be contacted again when they begin building the camper to double check everything and that's probably when they'll ask about custom colors.

Not to be a D-bag but I promise you 21 days of no contact is almost laughable... if that’s as long as it goes consider yourself lucky. I went months at times...

Note: I have mine now for what it’s worth

Are people spamming them with too many questions, being over demanding, or something else? In no way am I pointing a finger at you, @YOTA 4X4 , just curious about contact frequency and amount of questions. Besides an initial wait of 5ish days (including a weekend) back when placing orders began, I have never waited more than 48 hrs without a response.

I tend to be straight and too the point, numbering my questions, not suggesting any improvements, just questions about compatibility, materials, and completion estimates for accessories. But my experience could be out of the norm. I'm sitting at about 7 or 8 emails back and forth.

No offense taken. Overall I'm not that concerned. What does make me wonder is the fact that a friend (who also lives in the Denver metro area) placed his order about a month after me and he has moved to 'In Production' while I'm still in 'Not Shipped'. I was thinking that they were probably batching orders based on geographic location for delivery which might be part of the explanation for units appearing to jump around on the Leaderboard, but now I don't know. My buddy did fill out his Google form before me however, so that could be part of it?

Keeping my cool and trusting...but getting a little anxious considering it's supposed to go into production on Monday and I haven't heard anything.

I am in no way representing GFC as anything other than a fully paid and satisfied customer. That said since my initial order 8+ months ago they’ve gotten better.... to be brutally honest everything about GFC is AMAZING except their communication. That is less than amazing.

I have no idea the cause, I will say if Elise is indeed putting 40+ hours a week into answering questions via phone and email and they’re still at this level of response they should consider bringing on more help in that department. People spending 6-7k shouldn’t have to fight to get an answer or response.

Finally they have indeed gotten much better and Wiley has been killing it on this thread lately so we all thank him for that. Keep the faith try not to get too aggravated, I’m personally super happy to see this company grow like it is. I imagine as things slow down from the initial rush they will start to catch back up.

This is a variation on that theme. I have a 62" bed so the front of the bike has to be raised a little to fit. The bike has to go in front first or the handle bars hit the tailgate window. I can clamp the forks and slide the ramp and bike in, eliminating crawling into the truck bed to clamp the forks. Then I tie down the back wheel. I have a similar ramp for a 29er that doesn't raise the front forks, but the handle bars and forks have to be turned 180º (a normal amount of slack in the brake and shifter cables is usually enough to make that possible.) A TT bike fits this ramp, but the ramp and bike only fit the short bed diagonally.

We're definitely still getting our customer service systems dialed in :) Elise has been out of town at the rebelle rally (she's back now though) and Ben was filling in for her on the emails but apparently didn't know to check the form for responses. Hence the two-week wait. Elise and Graeme are figuring out how to prevent that from happening again. The volume of inquiries is definitely very high but the biggest issue right now is just getting better at organizing all the streams. We do plan to do another hiring round in January though.

I posted in somewhere in this thread a couple months ago, but it just shows a darker window. Not much to see :notsure:

I went with a dark tint, people can’t see in, but while driving I can see out. At night I can see headlights just fine. Backing up is tougher to see.
