I have the ST Maxx's and going to be due for new tires, sometime next year. How do the MTP's compare to the ST Maxx's?

I had Maxx in 255/80r17 and went to MTP in 295/70r17. Much wider and maybe 1/4" taller. The MTP don't have the same beefy sidewall as the Maxx, which leads to the MTP being much lighter, so the two tires weighed the same. That's not to say MTP has weak sidewalls. I air down to ~13 PSI and haven't had issues (though I do have a couple small chunks of sidewall missing).

As far as performance, the MTP are awesome. My truck is my play toy so I wasn't worried about on road mannerisms so much. If it's your daily driver, I would vote maxx as they're much more tame. MTP have typical characteristics as a mud terrain.

Another thing that swayed me towards MTP was price. They were much cheaper when I was looking and saved about $200 overall (across 5 tires).

Anyways, I love the tire and would buy it again. I may get them again in 35s when it comes time to go a little bigger. Here are some pics.

There are no member discounts running right now but as always we guarantee the lowest out the door price. If a competitor has a cheaper advertised out the door price let us know!

The MTPs are holding up well in all types of terrain.

I just returned from a 2,000+ mile round trip to the San Juan section of the Rocky Mtns. in Colorado. I only needed to air down to 25 PSI. That gave me a good ride on the rough trail and allowed me to make it to and from the hotel on city streets/highways without being too low. I think I was near 7,000 lbs total weight on 285/75/R16.

They worked out well on Black Bear Pass, Imogene, and other passes in the Silverton/Ouray CO area.

They work well in the mud when I'm back home.
