I tried with him man, he just doesn’t get it. My buyout right now is 34000 which is a little bit more than I paid for the truck, not 6-7k more like @TankTop keeps trying to tell us. If I buy it right now, I will only have paid one payment and whatever the rent charge was within that.

    Net Capitalized Cost $25,000
    Residual $15,000
Total Net Cap Cost + Residual $40,000
    Money Factor .0025
Money Factor × Total Cap Cost + Residual = $100.00
Monthly Rent Charge (Finance Fee) $100.00

Notice that when you add both the Net Capitalized Cost to the Residual you get a total of $40,000, which increases the total balance you will use to multiply with your money factor.”

If you total the car or trade it in the only thing that you or insurance doesn’t pay is the taxes, the rent charge is part of the payment and it all gets paid.

Yes, 100%!!! But it does not go away if you terminate the lease early.

Never leased, only bought - I put way too many miles per year to lease ~18000 to ~22000

Can still lease, just have to buy it at the end or anytime during the lease.
