Its good when it works properly. After driving in West Virginia the last couple of days I’ve come to hate it. Every time I was traveling up or down a grade in a curve, me being in the fast lane and big rigs in the slow lane, the cruise would slam on the brakes. It’s a good thing on flat ground but in the mountains it needs some work!

You can disable it by simply holding the "on" button down for three seconds. I hate it.

In the flat mid-west I absolutely love it.

Situational but sometimes I love it. If mentally I don’t care what speed I’m going and I just want to get there, it’s really nice. A slow car here and there can cause issues with passing, feeling like you’re going too slow in the fast lane and you have to wait while the next car gets far enough away before you pick up speed...as tech progresses I do think it moves more towards the autonomous side.

I like it on single lane roads, simply following the car in front.
On the highway it drives me crazy... have to disable it so that I can weave smoothly.

I don't think it's designed for lots of weaving. It clearly likes to be in a single lane most of the time as once you start weaving it goes crazy.

Wouldn’t mind having this feature on my ride sometimes.

I've maintained 75 on a 65 speed limit 3 lane highway with the Adaptive cruise on. I wasn't cutting in and out of lanes, but I was able to weave through to pass cars here and there without having to disable the cruise or manually speed up/slow down.

Have you tried different distance settings? I hated mine at first on my trip to Maine because I didn't know I could set the distance (Far-Med-Close). It was always on the far setting and every time someone would pull out way in front, the truck would slam on the brakes. Once I discovered I could use the different presets, I use the closest setting and absolutely love it!!

I love mine. I only us the "close" setting and its perfect. That setting really mitigates the truck having to change speeds so often. Side note, the "close" setting allows for great distance when following 18 wheelers and allows for greatly improved fuel efficiency.

Need to get my manual out and see how to change the distance. This sounds like a better way to use this.

There's a button on the lower right on steering wheel. When you engage cruise control, tap the button with the ((( symbol, it will let you cycle between the 3 settings. It will display a corresponding image on your instrument panel.

check out the 3rd video http://www.serratoyota.com/blog/how-to-operate-the-toyota-dynamic-radar-cruise-control-system/

This button allows for sensitivity adjustment.

This has been my experience as well. I usually set it to 75, closest or mid follow distance and just move through traffic, no problem.

O.K. thanks. I adjusted something else this morning while at the laundry mat...the adjustment were on the instrument panel. It was the " PCS PEDESTRIAN DETECTION " sensitivity distance, (Just saw it in the manual)

Hey I noticed this SR has a light around the ignition so you know where to put the key in when it is dark. Also noticed Toyota put floor mat fasteners on the passenger side. My '16 SR5 didn't have them on the passenger side.

I do know about the distance settings. Luckily the ole lady has a 17 Rav with this crappy cruise also. I’ve learned to hate it way before my taco.

Thank you sir. I didn’t know you could do that. I tried it last night and it’s perfect!
