I second this! I have REKGEN and they're great, they look good, easy to install and they offer a veteran's discount. Good people to do business with.

I think WeatherTech is the only place to get mudguards for the "Flareless" 3rd gen Tacoma's. Waiting on a warranty refund check and I'll have a set on my new SR.

Thing about any Universal flap is the best way to get them drilled/aligned properly (IMO) is to remove a front and rear wheel. Then you also have to piece together the mounting hardware and spacers. Spacers are important because there are voids that have to be filled to achieve the strongest possible mount.

Why not buy those Revgens or RokBlokz, pre-drilled, even slotted, durable rust-proof mounting hardware is included. You install them using an offset screwdriver, wheels on the ground.

Yeah that has been a problem with the molded OEM "flaps that don't actually flap" since the 2nd Gen. Remove them quickly or there is a wear line. Plenty of better options.

Put RB's on the wife's Subaru and would definitely get them for the Taco if the OEM's get trashed.

Only p /up trucks I've ever seen with mud flaps are Toyotas , never seen newer trucks such as a 2019 Silverado HD Duramax have mudflaps even the 2019 F350 Super crew diesel p/up doesn't have mud flaps . Also the 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie crew cab , no mudflaps!!!!!

All of these new trucks I listed don't come from the factory with mudflaps !!!!

Now you got me wondering if I should buy WeatherTech mudguards or forget about mudguards all together.

1653251F-574F-4927-AB96-C5E0C0D6834F.jpg I run the stock Toyota flaps. They look good, are functional, and have never had a problem with them on or off road. I don’t rock crawl in my rig, I use my Jeep for that.

I live in the High Desert in Calif and like I mentioned only trucks I see with mudflaps here are semi trucks and medium duty bobtail as they're DOT required

Trucks also come with receivers and no hitches.

I didn't know SR versions are hard to find aftermarket.

From what I've seen any molded guard that touches the paint will quickly wear a groove into the paint. If the Weathertechs don't touch the paint, buy them.

If you go sans flaps you're in the majority, I'm a big fan of flexible flaps myself, but most people go without.

Yeah WeatherTech is the only mudguard I have found for the SR without fender flares. Sucks.

Only thing I've got worry about damage to my paint or windshield is being sandblasted by the Desert winds that blow sand everywhere!!!

Most people who run back roads run mud flaps so your paint is not completely done in a matter of trips. Also some people who live in winter conditions deal with sand on the main roads which would sand blast your paint.

If all you do is pound highway miles and I guess sand dunes your paint should be fine without flaps.

I suppose you could put a layer of 3M Clearbra on the painted area, that is some stout material. I've put a DOUBLE layer of 3M on some rubbing areas, very stout.

I had no intention of installing mud flaps on my Tacoma. But I spend some time on gravel roads and after 5,000 the paint on my lower doors was chipped to hell. RokBlokz mud flaps fixed that problem and look good to boot. Wish I would have done it right out of the gate.
