Just throwing this out. I wouldn't have bought a tacoma if they didn't have manual...

    Mostly stuff I built.
Totally agree. Key reason I don’t own a Tundra is the auto only configuration.

Damn it. Why am I reading this thread. Giving my buyer’s remorse for not getting the manual.

I came from a 6MT FJ Cruiser so not apples to apples but while I sometimes miss the manual it’s far outweighed by the ease of driving an AT.

MT is sweet because you are fully in control of your truck. But it gets old when you’re not in the mood and just want to relax. It really depends on what you want to do and what you’re willing to put up with to get it.

If you’re going to constantly nit pick the AT and bitch that it’s always in the wrong gear and blah blah blah.....you’ve probably read it all already, then you should probably get a MT.

If you just want to drive you’re awesome truck and enjoy all the other greatness that is going on in and around the vehicle while the tranny handles it’s own business then get the AT.

I personally find the AT more enjoyable in almost every situation.

My Fj 6mt was pure garbage. Number 1 reason why I never even considered a MT Taco. The MT Taco I drove for fun during a service visit was ok, but I don't miss the experience.

Besides not being able to eat much with a manual, the Hands free "car phone" makes that easy and I think the 6 speed MT is the easiest clutch I have ever driven. But I do think the AT is very convenient!

And the best part about the MT is you have an ACTUAL key!! No push button.. but that's personal preference!

If you have to ask this question, you are not ready for manual. Stick to Auto.

Lol. Yea, forget about eating. I felt like I always had to speed chug water and get the lid back on and back into the cup holder in traffic because you never knew when you might get another free hand.

I am waiting MONTHS just to get a manual. I could have had an auto in the color I wanted much sooner.

I don’t know where you’re at but jump in the MT with a pair of big sloppy snow covered Sorrel Pack boots on and hold on. The top of my boot used to get caught under the lip of the lower dash. It was an entertaining event every time.
