    @stronghammer

At 0:13-15 second mark in the video, Whites right arm wraps around Fitz, and this is first time I've seen that view point. Is this video doctored up? If it isn't, then I understand why the ref on that side of the field threw the targeting flag.

At the end of the day, the targeting penalty needs to be revised- after reviewing the play: 1) 15 yds + loss of down + loss of one time-out, or 2) 15 yds + loss of down + loss of one time-out + player ejected immediately & for the next full game.

All this being said, I bet Saban would be just fine with LSU playing White for the entire game. I think the targeting ramped up with P. Manning and T. Brady whining so much, at least that's when it stands out the most to me.

I want LSU to give Alabama the full dose though, no excuses when the clock ticks down to 00:00

the video isn't doctored. he keeps his left hand on Fitz chest throughout the tackle, the right arm moves out and wraps around.

I just don't know why there are 2 penalty types for running into the kicker, but not 2 for hitting quarterbacks.

I 100% understand why he threw the flag, but the replay should've reversed it.

If we are going to have targeting calls....This is a targeting penalty...Devon White needed a 15 yd + loss of TO + loss of down; and the hit below add ejection to it

I'm even ok with any hits where the guy distinctly lowers his head and makes initial contact with that! White went arms, then full facemask at the guy. Sorry but you can't hit someone that hard with your face lol. I even think offensive players need to be taught better not to lead with their heads, that seems to cause injuries even more often.

On another thought....what's your opinion on changing QBs at this point in the season? I'd like to see Keytaon or the Moose play, Fitz is a good teammate and person but at this point what's there to lose? His passing game is completely gone (imo) with 4int's against LSU (btw-the targeting took away the 5th int), I know he holds a rushing qb record, but that isn't translating into W's.

I fully support QB changes. As an LSU fan we dealt any you many times with les miles being unwilling to change QBs. If your offense isnt producing you need to change. I think fitz needs benched at least to give someone else a few series

Is it possible that when the replay official reviewed White's (questionable) targeting infraction that because both of his feet leave the ground that they considered it launching?

They dont though. Go watch that slow mo video. The right foot is on the ground when the left arm touches then the left foot comes down. It's literally a step. Both feet do not leave the ground simultaneously

I'm just saying, you slow something down and watch, at .23 seconds (about or around) when White's hands are making contact, neither foot is touching. So if replay slowed it down and stopped right there, they *could* justify it as targeting...

I'd rather he not be suspended for the first half. LSU Tigahs are already blaming refs and claiming that Bama is gonna get better calls. White being suspended is just another "justification" for LSU if they lose.

Bama cant help that he was suspended. so...........

Also, Bama's defense should have forced probably 300 yards or more of holding penalties this year. Okay, maybe that's a bit aggressive, but...I'm really quite sick of clearly watching opposing offensive lines hold and tackle defensive lineman and it not get called. Especially when the play ends up going for a decent gain. I know, I know. "There is holding on every play..." Blah blah blah. Maybe the refs should call it and it would stop.

But, that is the game. Sometimes you get the calls, sometimes you don't.

Somebody posted earlier a few pages back I think detailing that Alabama has less penalties than a lot of teams (at least I think that was the point of the post...). This doesn't surprise me (minus the idiot punching the other player, that should have been called....period). With the way Saban and the rest of the culture preaches discipline and mental toughness....the result is less penalties.

I'll apologize now if this doesn't read very well, I'm running on about 3 hours of sleep in the last 3 days and am dreading a very long day tomorrow. Up at 2:30a to be at the airport in Indy to fly to McAllen, Texas and back, in the same day. FML.

If I'm not on before the game, good luck to LSU and I hope its a clean, good game. One of my favorite games, that I hate. HAHAHA.

Yeah but if you watch the motion of the feet one foot is on the ground while one is already up. You dont launch with 1 foot. This is pre contact. Clearly a step. The only time there are 2 up is after the arm is touching and that is when the left foot is going down and the right up, how steps work...you know.

So, if one foot is going up, and one is going down then neither one are on the ground. Otherwise, it would be in a state of stopped.

That's how the ground works, you know.

Clearly, as White's hands are reaching the QB, both feet are off the ground.

I launch off of one foot. That's how you jump, you know. Turn a vertical jump to a 45 degree angle horizontally, and you have a "launch".
