Yeah my buddy gave it a shot in his rubicon on 37's and just had the wrong wheel base for it. My atrac had stopped working so I was "open" in the front and didn't even bother rolling up to it lol. It's nasty looking. Short wheel base and narrow looked ideal for making it up, or a massive rig on 40's+

What are you saying, go big or go home? I am not looking to go LT with truck. Just a solid mid travel set up.

I will definitely have to keep my eyes peeled for it next time I run MM. Aren't you on 35's and regeard? If so why didnt you put a front locker in when had the front diff open?

35's and 4.56 gears. I was only on 33's and barely getting into more hardcore crawling trails when I regeared. I figured atrac would be all I needed. Now I wish I had it. Jumping up to 37's on my next tires and when something breaks gearing wise, I'll jump to 5.29's and put a locker in the front. But until then I'll run it as is.

That is some good logic there. I would be more worried that you might break a CV running 37s.

Yeah and at that point I'll need to save money and swap to some RCV's

Gotta impress everyone at the mall. I mean they do host the overland expo here every year. Though I'm probably one of very few with dented slider from being abused.

Well this weekend was a successful one. Made a little money on the side to help pay for my shock relocate project and did some front end work to the truck.

So the main objective for the weekend was to get some new PIAA Ion fog lights put in my bumper. I had been running square LED lights as fogs but since moving back to Steamboat I have found I hated them for the snow. I have had the lights for about two weeks now and was not able to install without a little modification to the bumper. So I went over @Squeaky Penguin house to pull the bumper and weld some new tabs into place.

Well after we got the bumper off we start looking at my front end and decided to finally do project I have talked about for about two years now. So everybody that has a 2nd gene knows the crossmember that you front skid bolts to is a nice rock buster. So the ends of mine were starting to look a little worse for wear.

    20181111_121930.jpg

So I have always wanted to chop the lower half off and then plate over it, that is exactly what we did.

    20181111_151210.jpg

So now when I go wheeling I wont be making that crossmember even worse then it already was. Oh and I love my PIAA fog lights so much more then the LED ones. Now what to do with my old fog lights. :notsure:

Me and my truck should be a lot happier this next wheeling season. Got some fancy new 2.0 King 12" smooth body shocks on order from DSM. Sadly I missed out on their 10% for November because my paypal account got locked down because somebody hacked it but got it all taken care of today. But oh well that is life, so time to move on and get excited about doing a shock relocate this winter. :bikewhoops: :dancingbacon::broccoli::jellydance::kona::bananadance::taco::yay:

Sweet. I suggest the bamf relocation. That's what I ran before going full LT.

Ya those aren't bad but I am going to fab up some mounts like this.

I really like the look of tube mounts under the bed, and I like the fact these tie into the bed.

Those will work perfect as well. Plus you have a fun fab project. Also don't necessarily need to remove the bed for these.

To me these seem a little more bullet proof then the BAMF ones and allow for future growth or revisit if need be. This will be the biggest fab project that I will have ever done on my truck so it should be interesting and hope it goes ok. Not having to remove the bed is one of the nice things about doing a relocate on a 2nd gen.
