    Looking for lift kit
I want to add gears to my Tacoma
4.88 gears, I have 6” lift running 35” tires, my transmission is constantly hunting for a gear.

Question if I change my gears to 4.88 do I need to reprogram my Transmission or Computer to the new Gears?
How do I reprogram the speed omitter?

You will need the hypertech and program with a PC or pedal commander. I did 4.88s and 33s and have the hypertech.

4.88s will work just fine but given the opportunity to do things again, I'd go 5.29s. It'll be better. No need reprogram anything for the gears but like said above, Hypertech for the speedo. I'd also HIGHLY recommend the OVtune. Those 2 things combined make for a very satisfying drive now

I agree 100%. I’m currently on a 6” Suspension System with 35’s. When I did my 4.88s, 5.29s were not available or thought of. I’ve been contemplating switching mine out. Too bad you didn’t live here in Oregon, I’d sell you my New gears already broken in and I’d get the 5.29s. However, it really depends if you’ll be towing a lot. If you will, I’d go 5.29s. If you won’t be, then I’d stick to 4.88s.
