    Not really.
Yes the second part is subjective, but well documented here.
Not a knock on the Tacoma AT.
Personally don’t care for most of the modern automatics I’ve driven, busy shifts, delayed down shifts followed by hard down shift.
    I deal with it everyday.
Don’t blame Toyota, it’s a industry wide problem.

Funny you say this. Day after I ordered my Manual, I got my hand crushed at work. Talk about making driving a manual a pain when my left hand is in a brace.

Sorry to laugh at your misfortune...lol...but it's actually a fear of mine. What am I going to do when I re-injure my knee or can move my arm. The number of I told you so's will be astounding. That being said it's still worth it. Sorry about your injury, blows.

I'm guessing they are not taking AP classes. You're not flying a space shuttle.

I taught my 11 year old how to drive it a few weeks ago. Started her off in low, then once she “got it”, I put it back in high.

She loved it. Probably was a mistake though. Now she’s constantly bugging me to go drive.

Look at all the shit I had to stuff behind her so she could be close enough to reach the pedals.

And she says it’s “her truck” now.

My experience is with 2nd gens. My 2010 Sport had a MT. The only issue I had with it was that 1st gear was too high and 6th gear was too low. Has this changed in the 3rd gens? It really bugged me! I tried using as a tractor once to pull out a little stump. Smoked the clutch. I now have a 2014 Off Road AT. I really wanted a MT, but gave up waiting for one (Bought it used). I wish I would've waited. Driving an auto is not nearly as fun as the manual. I shift manually as much as I can. An auto steals control from the driver! For me, it feels like the truck is less of an extension of myself

On the other hand, I would never have thought about pulling out a stump with an auto! I don't know if that's good or bad!

OP: Did you buy your Taco yet? Which way did you go?

Nice. We learned on tractors, farm trucks and motorcycles. It's really pretty simple. Sorry.

It is simple. I never said it was hard. I learned on a manual too. Only takes a few minutes to teach someone.

Hill Start Assist only comes on the Sport Manual, the Off Road and Pro Manual do not.

It’ll be your truck, so get whatever you want . . . As long as what you want is a manual! Get it, and enjoy driving again.

So true! Shifting feels natural. Letting the tranny shift itself seems unnatural.

Seems like your cons list is longer on the mt versus the at.

    Ask that guy lol

Some guy taught his daughter to drive a stick and all he did was belittle it.

It's great you think it's simple but it's nice to see some of the future learning..

It's so nice to see kids out learning things like that vs be stuck in their technology addictions.
