So, please disregard if this hijacks in any way. I too was considering XenonDepot's 4300K HID Kit for my '18 Tacoma and after going onto their site to verify fitment, etc., I couldn't find the '18. I contacted the vendor and Danny replied with "Unfortunately, we don't have the lighting data for the 2018 Tacoma yet so you'll need to double check with your truck to confirm what you need." Leaves me pretty uncertain on exactly what I need for Plug-N-Play, especially when we are talking $300+. Left with more questions than answers...

I have the morimoto 50W 6500Ks. They are very nice but they do shake. I've done a good bit of testing/looking into it. My conclusion is it's the seating of the bulb in the projector that creates the shake. The looser this is the more shake you get. I'm on the original gaskets so I suspect getting the HD gaskets Morimoto was sending out would help but I think there's two other things that play a roll in the 50W morimotos getting reported with shake more so than others...

Heat and output. The heat makes the gaskets softer so that allows more shake. The higher output makes the shake more visible. There's no way you would be able to see the shake with the OEM halogens even if it were there. Just not enough output. Further, the morimoto's do have "hot beams" if you will that make it more noticeable imo. The output is not 100% uniform as you can see the main beams coming from both sides and meeting in the middle.

Also, it does depend where you drive. The shake is not noticeable in town on lit streets. Nor will there be any shake on highways/interstates. Where you see the shake is at moderate speeds, in very low light situations on very rough roads. Think a dirt road out in the country where your headlights are the only lights around.

I've considered swapping in the xenon depot phillips bulbs but someone did exactly this and reported worse shake after the swap so I've held off...it's possible it comes down to the tolerance of your projector socket. If it's a little bigger than others maybe you get shake with any bulb you throw in there.

If we don't have the listing in our fitment guide and you are not sure which ones you need, you can check with your Owner's Manual, or inspect the bulbs in the vehicle to be 100% sure of the information. When checking in the vehicle, you do not always need to go as far as pulling out a bulb to check - most vehicles have the bulb type written/etched on the front of the headlight lens somewhere. Take a look at the front of your vehicle and you can probably find what you need.

That being said, the 2017 Tacomas use H11 bulbs for the Low Beams and the 2018s are also part of the same manufacturing generation, so they are most likely the same. Best to double-check to be sure, though.

Are you running stock fog bulbs with the Laminex. I tried some knock off yellow film and with the stock fog light it just looked gross lol.

How bright do lights need to be for just running around in a city. I think the stock lights are really bright. There is street lights, there is other cars with lights. I mean if you feel the need to blind people just use a 30 or 40 inch light bar and drive around with that on. I put BD squadron pros in the fogs so I can play light battle too. You may not see me with your bright ass lights shining but if you have blinding lights I’m flipping you off every time.

I have the Morimoto kit. I’ve been running them for over two years now and really love them. I got the 55 watt ballasts. They really light up the road. It’s a huuuuuge difference from the factory bulbs the truck came with. All this said, it is the first HIDs I’ve ever had so no comparisons there. I just know these have been great for me

Where did you get this "Tacoma HD bulb seal" ?

I just installed the XD HID and was told the HID bounce is "normal" . Yea, not when I paid $180 for a HID kit with the Philips bulb. I guess I'll have to fix this issue myself.
