To keep this brief...Had my DS wheel bearing replaced this Monday. This morning while pulling into the gas station I notice a "grind" sometimes "pop" sound when rolling. Almost sounds like when you drive slow over gravel. I hadn't noticed anything all week until just this morning. Was driving an hour or so to go pick up a skid plate and never felt or heard anything from inside the cab. Can hear the sound as a slight scraping like a stick dragging on asphalt. I can't see anything specific that appears to be out of place or rubbing. Only thing I thought is maybe brake hardware rubbing on the balance weights on the inner wheel lip??? But I think I would have noticed that already.

Worth bringing back to dealer that did the bearing? It was warranty work since I bought the truck used. Might try jacking that corner up and spin the wheel by hand and see if I can duplicate it.

Could be a few things. I'd start simple and see if the dust cover for the brakes is rubbing the disc for the grinding noise. The pop could be something loose. I had an alignment once and they didn't properly tighten the lower control arm bolts and it made a pop noise like you described. It could be any of the bolts up front though, you wouldn't have to loosen the LCA for a wheel bearing, but who knows what they did take apart. I wouldn't let the popping noise go, it somethings loose, it's just a matter of time until it completely lets go.

Yeah I'm just bringing it in first thing tomorrow to get it looked at. I'm going to try and take a better look myself after work but figure it's better safe than sorry since I'm fairly limited on resources around here.

Definitely something not tightened right or out of position. Looking forward to what the outcome is?
I just did my own hub/bearing replacement last week. Like already said, could be brake dust plate?
I'd jack it up and give it a spin while your looking and listening.

I don't if I'm an idiot or just coincidence it happened on the corner I replaced the bearing on. SO leave work last night and cant replicate the sound at all. Maybe once or twice get a pop out of it like someone is hitting the bottom of a hollow pie pan. This morning same thing...I'm in total what the f**k mode and drive to the shop anyway thinking maybe it'll happen. Luckily just as I pull in it starts to happen, tech hears it too when he takes it for a spin. Turns out the only problem he/I could find is I had made the switch to extended thread lug nuts a couple weeks back because I thought the regular thread ones I had wouldn't seat the wheel right and I was getting some steering wheel wobble occasionally, well it fixed the wobble on the highway but apparently the ET nuts didn't seat well enough on the base of the cone like they should. Long story long, this caused excess movement of the wheel/rotor and the pop was the rotor shifting against the lugs.

Even if that wasn't the problem luckily I had the old nuts in the truck, threw those on, now there is absolutely no issues. Thank god all I paid for was a cup of coffee and some gas on the way to work this morning...
