You would have to if you are going to be running fuel through it.

It is a setup I would not mind running, but that would require constant modifications as I have to smog the truck every two years. I am not willing to sit there and endlessly mess with the intake system just so I could appease the state every 2 years.

@Roostfactor I know you mentioned you're running a cheap Amazon oil catch can.. What all did you do to modify it to work without any vacuum leaks? I am leaning towards a cheapo aluminum one, but want to make sure it wont be a problem to get sealed up properly. Any info from you or others would be appreciated!

Depends where you go but usually anywhere between $40-$60. Unless you are talking about a fixed one, that will cost you 4 times the amount.

Welcome to the Ford Owners Fanclub or FOF for short @Torspd.

Seeing as all the stuff we use on our blowers comes off a Lightning and a Mustang. :D

So my plan for the Taco was to get a new catless Y pipe made, and get a tune from OVTune... and be pretty much content.. but yeah... not sure what to do about a tune still. Truck still runs rich.. pushing 11lbs.

What size pulley you got, and what is your current full blower setup?

You need to do that for sure and then you need to find a way to lean out the mixture some more. I have finally found a very happy more than medium for my setup that rarely goes rich now, but I am running a 2.3 so if you can find a way to take in more air without creating more boost you should be in a better position.

Do you not have an intake? That sounds like a lot of boost for a 2.6 pulley. Almost like you are being restricted somewhere and it is showing up in form of high boost.

What is your maximum rich AFR you are seeing and in what pedal situation?

Snorkel into K&N with secondary cut out. Have to run this out here in the desert. I've gone through 3 different intake setups..

I'm hoping a new, more free flowing Y pipe will help.

I'm buried at 10 at WOT via my AEM wideband.

Truck has URD spec U headers, ipt valve body, 4.56 re-gear, 2.25 Y with cats into 3" exhaust.

I think it would be a hair less expensive, and it would have its own control system that wouldn't need to be hooked up to a UCON, for example... and you could run it with the TRD tune, or OV tune. Another thing to think about though is fuel has far lower heat of vaporization than water/meth, so it wouldn't provide nearly as much cooling. I did a calculation and it's about 1/8th as good...

@5thGearPinned and I installed one like this but in black on his truck. https://www.amazon.com/ESPEEDER-Uni...+catch+can&dpPl=1&dpID=51PwLnDeUZL&ref=plSrch

I figured you would like the red. I also put coarse stainless steel pot scrubber material in the screen area.
Make sure you get some replacement fuel line to replace the crappy stuff that comes with it.

I also use yellow teflon tape (for petroleum) products.

Clamp all connections or you will throw cel's.

Better flowing exhaust will lower boost and lean you out some. IF your exhaust is the restriction.

I really think it is at this point.. that, plus I still get surging under WOT. Ive tried everything else. I'd love to find a shop that would be willing to make me one and I can swap the Y pipes in and out when needed. It'll be really quick and easy to see if that solves it.

@ThomasMore66 the Dayco HD belt I sent you is fine for this application. It is much beefier than standard belts and most likely the equivalent to the Gates.
