Most companies say “off highway use only” on bead locks, i think this is where the idea comes from.

True that. I've been hassled for full slicks & even drag radials but on that car I got pulled over for any stupid reason. On trucks cops really don't hassle you. Cops never even look at me in my truck. I see people rolling around on BFG race tires. I doubt they bother to check tires & wheels, not around here anyway.

Yeah that's probably it, when really that's probably just the company covering their own asses

Pretty sure its just them protecting them selfs. Because beadlocks require regular maintenance unlike normal rims

Yeah I'm guessing it has to do with what @Sperrunner mentioned earlier, the companies that make the beadlock wheels are just saying 'offroad use only' to avoid liability in case some numbskull doesn't maintain them the way the he/she should and pops a bead on the freeway or something.

My lights only work if I flip the switch on/off a 100 times then they finally come on lol. Fucking things have never worked right.

I'm running 3rd gen wheels, with 265R70 16's, and only get minimal rub with Wrangler Duratracs, and none with a set of BFG Long Trail straight treads in the same size on my other set of 3rd gen wheels. I have OME suspension. Wranglers only rub because of the knobs on the sidewalls.

I have a couple times...they'll work for a little while then go on the fritz again. Used the same wiring harness for two different sets of lights so it's either a fucked up harness or my grounds are no good...though I don't know how they can't be good but maybe I'll post up some pics here in a bit and get your guys' expertise @BartMaster1234

Oh Im on 2nd gen wheels now. I dont like the stance is all. It sits too far in from the fender flares, Id rather it be more even with the edge of the flare. The 4Runner wheels I have should bring me back out to that point. I had spacers on, but I couldnt get any shop in town to service my truck with them on. Too much of a pain to get a simple rotation. @eon_blue you may wanna consider this.

Yeah I read about that when I was doing some research on wheel spacers...I get a lot of alignments done so it's definitely something to consider lol. I haven't pulled the trigger on spacers yet, dunno if I will TBH.

If you do get a shop that will work on it, you have to ask them to only hand torque your lugs too as using a gun on it will void the warranty. Too much of a hassle in my opinion. That and its just another future failure point.

Mine didn't work well at all with 1 inch spacers, it introduced a lot of rub in the pinch weld area. I run in the mud, so I prefer to have my tires tucked in anyway, so as not to throw mud all over everything.

that was my other big concern, I get enough rock chips as it is without running spacers

I genuinely dislike finding and purchasing tires, but I love tire reviews. This guy nailed the con section

Last night, I was watching Breaking Bad when I heard a group of people yelling up at my apartment window.

I look down and I see a group of like 10-12 people who are yelling “TOYOTA TACOMA” at me, as evident by my window.

    That was weird.
