Hey guys got rear ended in town today. Shoved my bumper up into my bedside and tailgate scratching the shit out of it, and chipping pant off and cracking the plastic steps on top of the bumper Pretty heftly repair charges, let's just say I'm glad I wasn't at fault

My only thing with offroad/steel bumbers is that I don't tend to offroad enough to warrant one and if I got hit in the rear I'd be worried about frame damage, airbags, and such

Yeap, with a heavy duty bumper will your frame will bend before the bumper will, that's why I am keeping my stock bumper

I can understand that. Though in a fender bender such as this, it would save you a headache or two and give a piece of mind when parked in a crowded parking lot with no cameras. Hopefully it's never anything more, in which case I'm not sure if there is a bumper that would protect the frame.

Headache indeed, the driver that hit me is claiming they arent liable and saying the person behind them that hit them, knocked them into me. So they get to fight about that and I just want my truck fixed :annoyed:

Sorry to hear about that, but glad its not worse. I never do this myself, but usually your insurance will give you the option of them paying for the repairs and then getting reimbursed from the at-fault party insurance. If your in a hurry, might be worth it.

That seems really risky to be because I don't trust my insurance to pay me back haha

Oh believe me the front of her car was almost perfect minus some scratches, a broken license plate cover and some of my precious white pant. I chalk mine up to people not knowing how to drive in the rain

Well then I suppose that would be a factor too! lol Honestly, if they get a police report and ok it, its all done legit so they can't just back out, but yeah, ins companies suck.

Its more about the bumper taking the impact and damage, instead of the frame.
