Did a search and didn’t find this covered..

    Truck is a ‘15 AC SR5 4X4

After it rains, I have water sloshing around in my backup camera.
It’s like I’m looking through a fishbowl for several days afterwards until it dries out.

Anyone else experience this, know of the fix? I’m thinking its a gasket but I couldn’t find anything on the web.

    Thanks.

Try putting a little silicone around the camera.

Pull the tailgate handle assembly out of the tailgate. Remove the plastic splash guard and put it in correctly... Put it all back together and it should be fine.

Yeah, it’s definitely inside the camera, like I said, sloshing around, back and forth...

This is because you didn’t replace the backup camera fluid. Dude, that is second most important to blinker fluid replacement

Ok well. If you did. You would be a master tailgate dissasembler. Well just drop the tailgate. Open beer and take off access plate. Then remove linkage rods. Then take off 2 nuts holding on handle. Camera cable in there so be careful. Take out camera and do a detailed visual inspection. (DVI)

Thanks @Stryker420. I'll do it over the weekend and report back here. If I miss the fishbowl effect, I'll unseal it this Spring, fill w water and put the tiny shark in for the summer..

Didn't need to pull the handle assembly completely. Removed the interior panel from the tailgate- #30 Torx all around. The camera comes out by itself with 2 10 mm bolts. It's nice that camera protrudes from the base out the hole where you can see the camera besides the handle to drop the tailgate. Ran a bead of silicone around the camera base and sides and put it all back together. Raining now so I went out to check it and it looks dry as a bone. Can't see the silicone - white was all I had....Good stuff. Thanks @Stryker420
