Would it make sense to decide on a date, and then vote on location after we figure out who’s going?

I'm down for a day trip. It would have to be a fairly tame trail, as I'm not looking for paint/body damage.

Stampede pass is always fun, but not particularly a long trail.

Great! I anxiously await V2 of their hardshell. Last I talked to them they are going to refine some things from V1 before shipping it to the U.S.

Looks like there's at least six votes for 3rd weekend.

Six trucks is a good group! Let's make a day run that day no matter what the whole group here decides.

Been wanting to try the overland loop trail near Belfair. It's dog & stock friendly. I think and about 20 miles and if that's too short Elfendahl Pass OHV area is nearby to sling some dirt before or after on several different trails

I’m stoked to finally get off the pavement. I don’t mean to speak for everyone, but some of us (myself included) have little/no off-road experience.

That being said, if someone suggests an area that is “stock friendly” in their opinion, but turns out to be a little different than they remember, or isn’t so bad further up the trail, I guess my only option would be to bail and go home.

That’s because my truck is my daily, and I don’t intend on damaging anything. Also, I don’t desire to slow down the group of 9 other people that are eager to continue.

Sorry for rambling. My point is some of us have no idea what we are doing so please be mindful of that. I’m sure it’ll be an awesome trip, and we got each other’s backs. I’m bringing a buddy along who can hopefully snap some cool pictures.

I have a similar trepidation of wanting to go out while not getting myself into trouble, without slowing everyone down. That said, we all have to start somewhere and I think this is a pretty solid community to begin the 'training wheels' stage. Pun intended.

I'm in the same boat as y'all, my truck is my (Tuesday) daily driver and still relatively new to the world off pavement.
So don't worry, the trail chosen will be stock/newb friendly. Some forest service roads are kind of what I have in mind, just gotta pick one I guess.

There's a guy on alltrails who reported that he ran the trail I suggested in his BMW X5... you'll be fine.

That said, any trail can change depending on weather/usage so you can't really get mad at other members if it turns out gnarlier than expected. Especially this time of year. Don't worry man, I've had to turn around and bail on trails many times. It's NBD, better than not trying
