So this is going to be a long post, so I hope u read it because I would love everyone’s input on this............

So we mover to Houston for my wife’s job. I stay at home with the kid now second one on the way. She makes more now then we did together in Vegas. We moved with my truck and her ILX which I towed. After we bought our house we traded it in for a new RAV4 lease. Have had a lot of leases about 3 Lexus leases over my time at Lexus. So nothing new. The problem was that when we went to Toyota .... wait this is nothing to do with race so PLEASE believe me NOT EVEN GOING THERE..... but it seamed like they didn’t want to help us, like we was going to be waisting time. I have had 16 years at Toyota so I know how it works. But still. So they came back was like we are to upside down and that’s it this is how much money we have to put do so have a nice day. Which we told him we knew we was. So we where like ok we will put it down. After he ran the credit everything changed. It was like they just didn’t want to help us at first. So fast forward to now. We don’t need two cars . He car has only put 3k on in a year and 6-7k in the same time on my truck. We was going to traded both in and get a new 4R. Which she said I can do what I want with. I know what my truck is worth and knew about what hers is. We would have to pay out the 3-4 k on the lease. Which was fine. Go in and the same thing happen. This time they didn’t even try to give us a chance to talk and negotiated. I pushed and they where like ya we can’t do anything and the money down u guys don’t want to do that so here are the keys. Trade in my truck was only 14k which is what I owed. I told her not to say what I owed because that’s what they do. And they where like and “the rav is a lease so u have to pay out which I know u can’t.” That’s what they said to us. I was pissed. Once again It seamed like they didn’t want to help us. So I was no go and we left. CSI called and I told them what happen and gave them a 2 out of 5 which I knew what would happen next. Of course Manager called and we talked. The funny thing is that a another manager was taking pics of my truck which now he had. He was like ya not sure what happen and sorry but I saw the pics and we can do 20k on the trade in and the rav we can’t move on. I was that’s fine but now my wife hates Toyota. She said she never go to a Toyota dealer again. She will buy used but not from Toyota it’s self. At Acura we needed help bad to get out of a car. They bent backwards to do. Not even asking for it, I figured they was going to tell us no but they stepped up and helped. Now with Toyota that we don’t need help or asking for anything they didn’t even give us a chance. Is that just how dealers are here in Houston? Just bad luck on the sales men twice?
We went in ready to drop 5k if needed and we have over 800 credit scores.
So now we are going to drop 4K on my truck and refinance it so it drops the payment to if we only had one car,keep the rav and wait to the lease is up and give it back.

I love Toyota’s have had them my whole life and will always have them. This just burns a little. This Rav is my 12 Toyota including Lexus that I have owned.

Sounds like a bad dealership, these are the guys that would be able to get you to a quality salesman.

Ya now looking back I wish I did that. I should have known better. Lol I love my truck and never want to let it go. That’s why I was doing a 4R so I can start something new and have a long time. So I guess it worked out in the end. Saved money but it just sucks that my wife now wants nothing to do with Toyota. Just take time to get her back on the train. First one was a manual 85 Celica GTS when I was 15 and half. 20 years later still in love with them.

 

I know the feels. My wife has troubles with her IPhone connectivity in her 2016 XLE Rav4 and it drives her crazy. I've never had any issues with my droid phone (I know this is stretching the topic a bunch)

But, she's frustrated with it and wanted a Volvo SUV at one point.

I just simply explained that is unacceptable and we will find a solution sooner than later

Again, very sorry for ya brother. Sounds like a die hard Toyota fan and past history of multiple loved vehicles doesn't mean much to dealers these days.

And that’s what I told the GSM when he called. I know the difference from what I think is worth to what it really is. I think it’s a 40k truck to me but I know that’s its only 18-20k and what’s funny is that I didn’t tell him what I wanted and he said 20k. So that says a lot there.
Ya she wanted a 4door jeep when we had a IS and I was like u are crazy. Got a year old one traded in and had her drive it and she was o ya hell no. Lol.
