Easy way to fix that. "My neck hurts really bad and I'm pretty sure the person that hit me is drunk".

Haha I almost get rear ended yesterday the guy ended up sliding to a stop beside me in the grass. On the bright side at least you’ll get a freshly painted beside, tailgate and bumper when it’s all said and done.

Update: If you don't know what happened the person Infront of me stopped so I stopped and I was rear ended and I look in my mirror and someone had rearended the car that had hit me. I saw the passenger if the 3rd vehicle today and some told him I was trying to scam him?? So this might not go as smooth as planned

In a 3 car bread/meat/bread sandwich it can be difficult to determine who hit who 1st. If the 2nd vehicle hits the 1st vehicle, then the 3rd vehicle can't stop in time and completes the sandwich.

If the 3rd vehicle hits the 2nd vehicle, it will shoot it ahead like railroading a croquet ball, 2nd vehicle hits 1st vehicle and stops and then 3rd vehicle smashes into the 2nd vehicle again because they're still going faster.

Wait what? That doesn't even work, if someone hits you in that cause you to hit someone else it's still always your fault no matter what. This has been done in court all the time.

The steel bumpers don’t increase the chances of frame damage in an accident. The frame in the rear is designed to crumple with a certain impact. If your frame is going to bend its going to bend.
Rear bumpers decrease damage in small impacts like this one.

Honestly, they look cool and cost nearly as much as an OEM bumper. Few hundred bucks difference. So why not?

I woukd get an off road bumper because I’ve been backed into twice. With a steel bumper their car would be banged up.

If someone is that worried just have steel beams welded onto the frame. Good-bye Civic and its' drunk driver.

Nah you'll be fine, human body is pretty durable unless you're weak or anemic haha.
Bus getting hit from behind is honestly probably the least traumatic as all it's going to do is press you into the seat. Now if you're leaned all the way forword maybe that's a problem

yup, been rear ended twice in my tacoma, never in any other vehicle. Had my insurance take care of it as it wasnt my fault, but the biggest cost is the paint/dents on the fenders being damaged from the bumper being bent, as well as the reinforcement brackets in the bumper. The hitch helps protect the frame as well. The frame was never a problem.

Exactly even if you got hit you shouldn't be following close enough to get knocked into me
