Had it about 2ish years (have the spec sheet and clearence sheet numbers somewhere in the garage), installed it when I pulled a @cynicalrider and broke my front spider gears.;)
Wonder if the springs are just wornout, running the same locker in my 8" front now.

No, I was sitting right in the middle of shock travel when the springs were new. I'm sure it's still close. I do have a 1" BL but think it could be done without it. King offers a 1.1" shorter top cap that I went with but could have also gone with the welded rod end and make the overall length 2.1" shorter than the standard 10" 2.5 shocks are.

Yep, better than being rear-ended with one on a swingout... Not a scratch on them from wheeling yet. When I added the rear tube cross member they really sucked up close to the bed since the factory xmember was so low.

After that trip I now have a smaller gas tank than you all. :luvya: it's also getting about the same if not worse mpg than @Squeaky Penguin now. Hopefully it was due to a clogged charcoal cannister but I won't know anytime soon.

I plan on making one a pressurized water can at some point...

I'm hoping that's all it is. $30 for those isn't bad. Need to drop the diff to install the turbo oil pan so I'm not too annoyed by it.

I feel like there’s more details in your build. I’ll go check that out, thanks.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

One diffrence between what you are describing and what my set up will be, is I will be manual hub, not ADD. Not sure if that's good, bad, or indifferent... but that's why I'd love to hear everyone's insight and opinions while I figure out the best balance between what is best, and what I'll actually be able to afford to do.

Not awful then, especially already needing to be in there. Might as well swap in a new pinion seal as well.

Careful with those axles. I actually swapped my driverside to a manual hub so I wasn't turning the rest of the drivetrain. I ended breaking it much easier than I thought it should have. They are 6mm smaller on the stub shaft. When they break they also take the hub with it. After that incident I swapped the ADD spindle and axle back in. I haven't had any ill effect from turning the front driveshaft all the time.

    Did that in the spring.

Lots of dust and custom dents, Check Build
    Correct.

Also means my tires clear better in the front, and I don't cover the side of my truck in mud. :luvya:

I really don't like tires sticking out way past the fender.

Youre kind of fucked there no matter what as you have a 3rd gen 4runner and that inherently has weirdly different parts than your taco. And the 3rd gen is also well..totally different.

Right. All good points and fair.

With a more aggressive offset wheel and wheel spacers. You can add another inch or so to your measurement. Would clear a shock fine. You just have to be okay with the wheel poke, which you're not. But it will work just fine if you are okay with the poke.

Yeah, I remember reading his post on it. Replaced the spare tire carrier. Cool stuff.

Not on a tacoma far as i know. Lots of people did that with supras when i was into those to fit certain offset wheels.

Stock fenders aren't big enough to really gain much from doing that, least the fronts. I think you could do some body work trickery to the rear bed sides with some strategic cuts and rolling it then patching the body. Be a lot of work though

yeah the motor is the exact same. But Im sure there are lots of quirky differences hidden all over. Thank you Toyota.

Do you feel like the 4 link "sways" compared to the Tacoma? My roommate had a 3rd gen for a bit and it was sketchy how much the rear felt like it would float. Also drove a 5th gen 4runner that felt similar but not nearly as bad, just noticeable.

Thats cause its a 3 link which swing the axle as it moves through the range of motion.

My brothers did it pretty bad. Would kind of do a weird rear end shimmy that could be terrifying on the highway in bad road conditions. This was mostly due to being lifted too much I think. Lowered it down a bit and it helped a lot plus new sway bars.

Yep. It wasn't fun around 65mph. I'm sure no sway bar made it worse.

My compressor kicks on about twice a week, in Greenville S.C the drivers are complete assholes/idiots.

Only get a taste of the nice Ga people on the weekends, I thought Atlanta was bad...
