I just recently replaced my stock goodyears 265/70 at 33k. They still had more tread life but I wanted a better tire. I went with the Wildpeaks 265/75. The larger tire will effect your speedo 4% in the readings. My gas mileage went down less than 1 mpg. I love the handling and grip. They look aggressive and the larger size helps fill the wheel well better after my TRD Pro lift of 2 inches. I look forward to using them in the snow this winter. I read a lot of reviews of this tire before I bought them. I went with standard load to keep the tire weight down. I want to keep my mpg good.

I ran my stock A/T Goodyears for 66000+ non-winter mostly highway kilometers (~44000 miles); I run a set of Michelin X-Ice snow tires in the winter months.

Even though I didn't, I would have been okay running the stock A/T tires during my first winter with the truck when they were relatively new. I definitely, however, would not have run them for my second winter by which time they had 42000+ kilometers (~26000 miles) on them. Reinforcement for this thinking was an early pre-season snow-fall before the snow-tires had been rotated back in for my truck's second winter; that ride home had me slipping and sliding all over the place on the worn stock A/T Goodyears.

Fast forwarding almost a year, I just rotated in my snow-tires last weekend in preparation for my third winter with the truck. This is a few weeks earlier than normal for me; was out the weekend before running some backroads and woke up the following Monday morning to a flat; a sharp 3/4 inch dragon-tooth shaped stone got caught in the siping on a worn tread-block and punched through. And so ends the life of my stock A/T Goodyears; they only have about 2 to 3 32nd's of tread left anyway so they are due (hell, past due ;)) for replacement anyway. Now I've just got to figure out what to replace them with before next spring rolls around :)

Mine was 24K on it. Thread was getting low on the tire. I experience a little hyrdoplaning on them when it was raining a couple weeks ago. Could probably last another 6-7k before thread is all up. With winter approaching, I didn't want to take my chances and got new rims and tires. Went with SCS Ray 10 and Falken Widepeaks AT3W with alot of good reviews on rain and snow for that tire.

Mine made it to 27k before I replaced them. I was right at 5/32 treadwear with a patch in one and a screw in another. Majority of driving was on dirt/gravel and then the Alcan highway from Anchorage down to Nebraska. Decided I should get better tread prior to winter so I got some Cooper Discoverer ATPs. Got about 500 on those so far and man what a difference. Stock size 265/70/R16. All tire rotation on the originals was done at the recommended service intervals at a Toyota dealer.

I guess I'm just abusive to my vehicles the only tires I've had last longer than 25k miles on any vehicle were on a Prius.

All of my trucks, SUVS and sports cars I toast tires by 20-25k, my motorcycles barely get 5-7k miles if I'm lucky (stock wranglers on my tacoma made it to 23k).

Trucks and sports cars are meant to be a little abused :mudding::burnrubber:

My stock BFG 265/70r16 Rugged Trails cause my speedo to read 2 mph faster than gps speed.
Others have reported 265/75/r16 tires put the speedo spot on with gps.

125 miles. That was the 1st upgrade I did. The Tacoma 4x4 off-road deserves some decent tires

Currently 36k and have about 5-10k left, not alot of rain in so-cal. Would probably swap if I was dealing with snow or heavy rain.

Go by the date code on ea tire and no more than 5 yrs no matter the mileage you've put on them

Same as you OP and they have taken me through snow, rocks, sand, and even mud but that was luck.

I'm shocked how good they are or even how good the Tacoma is off road.

My stock Goodyear Wrangler's made it to 42,000 miles. I was excited to ditch them and replace them with the Cooper ST MAXX skinnies (255/85/R16).

Not OR (SR) but got 43k out of my Firestone's. Could have easily took to 50k but noticed reduced traction in the rain recently and winter will be here soon.

A little over 35,000. Tire shop won't repair my flat because the tread was "too thin".

Replaced with Cooper ST Maxx 265/75/16, almost at 62,000 miles with about 8.5/32 tread left.

Did you go with a P rated version of the wildpeak?

I got 38k and they were at 3/32 but I had an extra oem set that i paid 80 bucks for so I swapped them for the same tire. This current set could probably last me another 12k miles. Already did 5k in them. I think I will be switching to a 265/75r16 DuraTrac in a C load. This is in socal so no snow and very little rain the last few years.

I really don't pay much attention to the milage I get out of a tire, I learned a long time ago that the expected milage is a guess. I've had tires rated for 50k get it and others not. To many factors involved driving habits, load, tire pressure, mechanical condition of the car and environment/road conditions. I personally will not run a tire with less than 4/32 do to hydroplaning experience I had in the past. That's just me. I don't go by milage , I do take note of it when buying them the higher the rating the harder the rubber. OP I have in the past had wanted tires, calm your wife by getting what you want keep the take off's and put them on craigslist. Done that in the past you can usually get good money for them as most shop's won't sell used due to liability. Besides you'll save the disposal fee.

32k on my OEM Goodyears. I haul a good bit of weight so mine were pretty shot by then. I have to admit the stocks rode great and I got the best mileage from any other tire I tried. But they suck off road. Went straight to Ridgegrapplers and went through 2 warranty sets of those. Rode like shit and wouldn't balance. Then to Geolander G015's, mmmmmmm smmmmmoooooooth.... But again with all the weight they're wearing fast and not good off road traction (especially mud). Just lifted truck and now on Cooper Discos (265/75-16). Middle of the road so we'll see how they do.
