    hmm. Id normally say its just the blower motor going out. But if you can feel it it could be a bearing in the tranny, ujoint, CB, or maybe a wheel bearing.

    Another though its your ADD is randomly engaging and disengaging. But that would be odd.

    Thanks. Suggestions for debugging? Will try to record it, though at speed, the cabin is already pretty noisy.

    Tranny bearing seems possible I guess. I doubt it's a ujoint - it's too on/off I think. Same with CB.

    For ADD - i wondered that as well... But no dash light is illuminating.

    Could just be the front diff engaging due to a shorted wire perhaps. But again seems highly unlikely.

    Does the sound happen when you start pulling a hill?

    When it starts try popping it into neutral for a second and see what the sound does. If it goes away it could be the clutch. If it continues and slowly goes down with speed its in the driveline post tranny. So then down shift and accelerate to see how the sound changes.

    Been a long time since I been on here or posted. Changed up the truck a bit. Recently moved so my drive to work is a bit longer and I’m still driving my truck back and forth as of now. My 33x12.5 Duratracs were worn and nearly as loud as M/Ts. Decided to go back to stock and got 31x10.5 Michelin ltx defenders. Also swapped back to stock front bumper. Still have the ~3” lift but it doesn’t look as funny as I thought it would with 31’s. Still plan on lowering it 1.5” or so. Just gonna lower the coilovers and figure out a way to get the back down an inch or so. Man I didn’t realize how loud my tires were. It’s so quiet now and I love it. I’m thinking I should gain a little gas mileage too. Truck feels a little more powerful with the SC and 31’s. Overall very happy. Also changed the oil, cleaned air filter, and greased the shafts.     Have you checked your fan clutch? Typically the fan will loosen on the hub and you'll be able to wobble it front to back. Make sure your engine is OFF 1st!!!

    You'd be surprised what people do when they are in the middle of nowhere and start to panic. At nobody's fault, judgement with some can make a potentially bad day into the worst nightmare you can image. I just can't stress it enough, so it has to be said by somebody.

    Totally understandable, can't tell you how many times I've touched a hot exhaust pipe on my truck trying to track down a weird noise or rattle right after driving it, even though I know better.

    The sound has happened going uphill and on level ground. Each time it started after approx 3 hrs of driving.

    Sound continues with clutch pushed in. Will try a lower gear when it happens again.

    Don't think so, but will play around with AC state.

    Will check. Lol.

    Will look at rear axle seals, but 99% sure it is coming from the front.

    Seems to be tied to engine speed, but engine and rolling speeds have varied together. Going to try down shifting to increase engine speed to determine engine / wheel link.

    Clunk felt in wheel, seat, and feet.

    All optional systems are off. AC off, lever set to outside air.

    These two comments add some confusion for me.

    Is the sound you hear consistent with engine/drive train or wheel speed. Yea, simply pushing in the clutch and or placing the trans in neutral should hep to differentiate between the two.

    Also, Ben asked where it was 'felt'. I suspect to differentiate between the front or rear of the truck. Typically, a vibration felt in the seat would indicate the source it in the rear. Whereas, a vibe felt at your feet (front passenger or driver), steering column and pedals would be in the front.

    edit: I guess I had waited another few minutes you would have answered my questions...twice. :D

    sound definitely changes, when I push in the clutch. At that point both the engine revs and wheel speed are decreasing as the sound also decreases. It's unclear to me if it decreases at the same rate as the engine, or wheel speed at this point. Will try to determine if it happens again.

    As far as front/rear 99% sure it is in the front, but the clunk can be felt through the entire truck as I recall.

    If the sound slowlyrics goes away then it's in the driveline. If it goes fast. It's the motor.

    Love it!

    Sound decreased in speed slowly initially when I pushed the clutch in, but stopped immediately when it stopped. It was literally like whatever had engaged, disengaged instantly after slowing down a bit.
