I am looking to go to the range a few time this summer and want to buy some cheap/bulk ammo. Everywhere I have been looking is $350+/1000 rounds + S/H. I can pick up the same price at Academy, but I was told there are places online I can get it cheaper. Any suggs?

Our Walmart has 250 for $79.99 :\ What pisses me off is the 9mm is 250 for $49.99.

    Yea

I went with the 40 for more knock down power as it is my home protection weapon, but the ammo is outrageous.

Make friends with somebody that has a press and load / re-load your own. I got sick of ammo prices, now I load my own.

Now if I could figure out how to refine my own gasoline I would be set.

Best deal i've gotten so far is Georgia Arms. Yes they're a commercial reloader, but I've never had a fail to feed or fail to fire with any of their ammo: http://georgia-arms.com/40sandw.aspx Getting 500+ rounds gets you a free ammo can, too. Works out to about $13/50

They did have one issue where a customer claimed a kaboom, however: it turned out that the kaboom was with a casing they never use, and they suspect it was somebody else's reloaded ammo that the customer shot from a mixed box. Also, they replaced the guy's AR-15 anyway.

I have purchased ammo online from ammoman.com. They have free shipping and sometimes have some pretty killer deals on "practice quality" ammo.
