    I have color matched caps, so I haven't tried... but I've read that others have removed the caps and sprayed with color match paint from: http://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/toyota/2018/tacoma/ with good results.

    Why are you worried about damaging fake chrome? If it’s nasty under there who cares, and how is fake chrome going to rust?
