What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I couldn’t even figure out how to do it on my computer

 

Damn. Looks clean for that many miles!

You guys are disappointing..

 

I don’t do technology

 

Initially I did this to my parking lights, I wanted them to match my black chrome headlamps I got. I went too dark with it, so dark that you could barely see any of the orange reflector.


Today I did this:

I got a set of aftermarket TYC side markers since the Toyota OEM's are being discontinued and went lighter on the tint and taped off the orange reflector. I think it looks better and hopefully it will keep me from getting pulled over and getting a ticket.
I should have done this in the first place so I didn't have to ruin my OEM markers. Oh well, I will see if I can polish them out with a plastic lens cleaning kit and hopefully salvage them. I will update with daytime pictures, I like the light tint look to them now. Opinions?

Surprisingly clean really. The interior needs some love but that's to be expected really. I have some headwaters seat covers on order for the front seats and that will take car of most of it. Few minor things on the exterior but nothing really noticeable. It does have a leak above the steering rack that I have yet to trace down and the passenger inner axle boot needs replaced along with both steering rack boots. They are OEM AFAIK.

 

Adding a left foot skinny pedal. Amputating my right leg in a few weeks. So this will be much easier then trying to cross my foot over. The pedal will fold up under dash and be held by a magnet. That way the wife can drive it and be safe.


It will have a short throttle cable that loops under dash and hooks to the top of the stock gas pedal.

 

Right click the file and select Rename from the menu. This will allow you to remove the '.zip' from the file name. When I did it, the file extension changed to .m4a. Then my nero player could play the audio file.

 

I am not encouraged by the sound. But I can't really identify what it is. No vibrations when it is making that noise?

That noise on the audio kinda reminds me of the sound some of the old electric golf carts used to make. Almost like a heavy bearing noise. I know, not very helpful.

To add perspective, it would have been interesting to to hear you get back up to speed after the thunk noise at the end.

 

Does anyone have a picture of the BAMF BPV bracket installed? I’m in the middle of installing it right now and I have no idea how to mount it.

Amputating your leg? Damn dude. That sucks, sorry to hear that.

Uh...its literally like 4 bolts haha you unbolt the BPV. Bolt the BPV on with stock bolts. Then bolt the BPV on to desired height.

I think I’m fucking stupid. I can’t find a way to have the bracket sit flush with the frame, the frame just out like half an inch.

 

ahhh yeah. your not doing it right.

It bolts to the axle not the frame.

It is but the bracket adjusts the arm, not the valve.

 

That is the BPV. However the arm is what move the valve. The Bracket just raises how the arm sits. Thus opening up the valve more. Usually all the way.
