So Cal Trails

I am looking to start going on some trails on a more consistant basis, only some very small stuff around me that i have gone on, but i am only a prerunner so cant get to wild, but i have been researching for some places and have come up with these: Coral Canyon, Cleghorn, Pine Valley, Rowher Flats, then of course there is Indian Truck Trail, Main Divide Skyline etc... For people who have done these trails, is a prerunner able to do all these trails, dont want to get myself into something i cant get out. Also is there any others that you would recommend. I will have 33/12.5 bf goodrich km2's with a rear locker. Thanks in advance to all that help.

Whatever u do, don't go alone. Shit happens on cell phone reception is slim to none on some of these trails. With that being said, you can do alot with your locked 2wd. I've done 99% of cleghorn, bypasses and all, in the locked 2wd Tacoma I had. Most of the trails you mentioned are fairly easy and shouldn't present with any insurmountable challenges.

Oh ya definetly wont be going alone, i have seen some of the stuff that happens, just that some people that would come with me are also 2WD and i am sure the 4WD dont want to be pulling us up and out and through stuff all day.

there is a race out at Lucerne Valley this coming Saturday if you want to come out, see some race trucks, and hit up some trails...

i will be rolling out from Fontana at 6am sharp...

thres lots of trails pilot rock to dishpan springs then the fire rds in arrow head into big bear thens theres a bunch in big bear also gold mtn white mtn rattel snake canyon and if urnot scared of a little harder stuff theres john bull then u can go into the desert thre lots to do in johnson valley sand dunes dirt rds rocky trails just really depends on where u want to go

 

cleghorn is fun, i have never been but silverado canyon trail? (something like that) goes or comes from irvine and ends in corona..

If you in SD hit up one of us here. Pine is PreRunner friendly, Corral at certain sections is. Cleghorn as well but on the main road. You can do the bypasses but with 2wd you need speed and with that can come damage.

 

I am actually out here in Corona(I.E.), but one of these times i will head out there for sure, thanks for input.
