They rub on some trucks and don’t on others. It makes no sense to me. My 255/80/17’s rubbed with stock suspension on my truck and Randy had the same tires and wheels on his and they didn’t.

You know I’m old. Teucks and jeeps i had when i was younger we all had wide tires. I had 36.5x 15.5/15’s on the jeep at one point. I thought 285’s were small and it took quite a bit for me to go to the 255’s but i have been nothing but impressed with them. Perhaps it’s just the tires themselves idk but they get good traction in anything I’ve put them in so far. Highway, heavy rain, snow, rocks, and mud. I still don’t like the looks as much as wder tires but i can’t deny the function.

I’m rt next door they said we’re not going to get much color change. They say too much rain has caused some kinda fungus and the leaves are gonna turn brown and fall off

Ah man that blows, I was really hoping for a nice fall this year. It seems up on top of the mountains are really pretty but once you get down into the valleys and down into lower wv it's not as nice

We were up on the drive a couple of weekends ago and when you looked sown into the valleys there were a bunch of trees that were already bare. We are down near Blacksburg this weekend and the trees are showing some color

Caster makes all the difference. I run 34’s with 0 cutting done and don’t rub on-road, even at full lock. Offroad is a different story.

Price of the rim just gave me a heart attack. Look super nice. How were they to balance?

Does anyone know if Fluid Film can be sprayed over top of 3m under body spray?

The dealership or previous owner under bodied the entire truck with black sticky under body coating. I have been researching the fluid film and from other tacomaworld posts it sounds like its pretty popular. Being in a heavy salt usage area can it be sprayed over the rubber sticky under body or should I try my best to remove the gunk?

I've heard that the rubberized undercoating sprays trap crap against your frame and end up rotting it out from the inside ... all while looking pretty from the outside. So you might be better off scraping the 3M stuff on and then applying the Fluid Film.

Its still soft so maybe I can get under and wipe a bunch of it off before it gets too cold here.
I wonder if adhesive cleaner or something will help soften it up so I can pressure wash it off.

Crap- just picked up some 3M coating this morning. Got it just for my front wheel wells... what if you clean it super well and dry it and there's no rust there first?

    EDIT:
So this video is in the NE, and seems to be different than the 3M undercoating. Also I can't find another video or review that states that this stuff is bad... can you cite more sources?

Seems the main issue is using it on metal surfaces ... so the plastic fender wells should be fine. Give them a good cleaning just to be sure.

    Good morning TW :pccoffee:

I’m looking at the 2nd gens and trying to decide/cull out the better year models. What are your thoughts on this- as far as safety features, suspension, engine changes, prefer the TRD package/limited/Pro/Baja models. Did any models come with a supercharger and such?

    Right now I have a 1st & 3rd gen, and always liked the 4.0 liter 2nd gen.

I appreciate your feedback and opinions, I’ve googled this but I’ll put the most weight into what TWers recommend.

    :hattip:
