Trucks made on FRIDAY?

I was reading through a thread and someone was having issues with their new truck, and another memeber said that the truck could have been made on a Friday and this might cause the issues he was having. Is there any truth to this, or was the TW memeber just blowing smoke?

If in fact trucks (cars) that roll off the line on Friday's are bad...can someone explain way?

 

lol, well let me take a crack at it: It's Friday, 3:30pm and your shift is about up. I've been working the assembly line all week and it's hot and sweaty because something is up with the A/C.
Would you give a rats ass about the electrical connectors you're putting together?

ETA: In case it wasn't obvious, I was just kidding. At best these kinds of 'Friday' or 'Monday' statements are old wife's tales

In most cases I don't think a machine knows the differance

 

So assembly line robots are stupider than smart phones and don't know what day of the week it is or how long they been bustin ass without any kudos from the ones reaping the benefits of all their labor? Bullshit, robots know when it's gear-oil-thirty. teeheehee...........

 

When i got out of the Navy 78 i got a job at GM in fremont, You never wanted a car or truck built on a friday or monday, reason being half the peeps were partying on the job on fridays and were hungover on mondays or they didnt come to work on those days and you had someone on your line job who didnt know crap on what they were doin..and didnt care

 

Can you imagine if this is true an is practiced in the medical field? Don't have your surgery on a Friday or Monday. Don't get hospitalized on those days because you will be messed up by the Doctors and Nurses?

Seriously, I think these are just myths.

 

That idea could have had some truth to it back in the day but I don't think it's really apllicable nowdays.

 

What about the operator of the machinery that likes to take a couple of 420 breaks and is veggin out on the job and dreamin of his next big Fatty?

 

Who says that auto builders work a Monday-Friday schedule?
I'm sure they operate 7 days a week and the employees end up working random schedules where their weekends may fall on a Tuesday-Wednesday for example or they may work 4 days on 3 days off.

 

Back when i worked at GM it was mon-fri, I worked swing 3:40 till 12:20. The line never ran on weekends

The term Wednesday Motor came from the JDM car scene. There can be 2 identical engines and 1 might make more power than the other. That engine was given the term a Wednesday Engine. Its a joke more than anything.

Mondays are mondays, tuesday you are still pissed that you have 3 days till the weekend, wednesday is you are almost there, thursday, wishing it was friday, friday comes and everyone is just watching the clock.

I have a Wednesday engine in my Taco. It was for sure built on a Wednesday, its fast.

 

My Taco was built on 4th of July, it's a firecracker, I tell you!

 

I'm guessing mine was built between tue-thu because it has been super dependable & NO issues other than regular maintenance since the day I bought it 30K miles ago. I love it!!!

The last number two numbers in your VIN tell you what day of the month it was complete on.

 

If that is the case my truck was made july of 2008 on the 5th day that would be a saturday. Overtime maybe?
