The guy made it seem like it was deep curb rash that would require machining the surface to get it out. I didn’t realize it was only paint transfer.

Alloys, polished not chrome. 16x8 4.0" BS. I forget the model number but they don't make these anymore in 4.0" BS.

They're not too shiny anymore & have dings & scratches. Perfect for painting black though. Was gonna post em on CL for $150, I only want $120 for them so not worth shipping. I might still have the center caps somewhere but they're ugly IMO. No tires on them.

 

Do you have the bar in the bed just to mount the a atene

 

I got the Demello bed bar cause I wanted mount dust lights. But I stopped going to the desert with the CT guys & never ended up going LT.

So yeah now the bed bar is only for the antenna which I have off most of the time anyway (quick disconnect). But at least it makes my truck look different. I haven't seen anyone else with it around here on a 1st gen.

Cool idea but I'd be concerned about the strength of the cab. Those 2 mounting studs aren't very big. The cab might buckle or flex with an antenna, especially if you hit something with the antenna?

But I guess that 3rd brake light mount is intended for HAM & not CB.

Lol. Maybe just a little if you look closely at it but yeah not noticeable or as bad as others I've seen.

 

Does that drive you crazy when its noy strait?

I feel like it wouldn’t be any weaker than drilling a hole in the roof.

 

That's not a good way to mount an antenna either unless it has a wide base & short thin antenna.

By just drilling a hole in sheet metal & mounting without a wide base? I've never seen it done that way. Maybe ok for just HAM antennas but I wouldn't do it. I guess that's what that 3rd brake light mount is for, not CB. I don't have HAM.

 

It’s like a 3/4” hole, i don’t know how wide the part under the hole is.

We use them for ham radios and long range gps

 

Do you have pics of them mounted in a hole drilled on the roof of a 1st gen?

 

No, I’d imagine someone does though.

Mine are currently mag mounted caue I’m poor.

Do you or anyone you know have holes drilled in the roof of their trucks for antennas?

 

I only know one person with a HAM radio & his antenna is mounted on the bed. I've never seen a CB antenna hole mounted on the roof. I've only seen mag mounts on the roof.
