    Hey everyone!

So I ordered the 6112/5160 setup and a cheap wheelers 3 Leaf AAL along with the ECGS bushing.

In reading more and more, I’m wondering if I might just take things slow and level the front / lift it about an 1” and not install the AAL yet. I’m assuming this is the 3/4th notch on the 6112s.

Has anyone done this? 6112s/5160 with no lift (stock leafs) in the back? So it’s basically a performance suspension upgrade with a 1” lift upfront. Almost like a TRD PRO Id imagine. Would also help me clear the 265/75r16 I want to run (even tho stock they work fine).

Any pics would be awesome! Just trying to determine which route I wanna go. Lifting just the front also doesn’t mess with driveshaft angles I believe?

I'm a second gen but incredibly glad I didn't do a full lift. I installed 5100s and that's it. It clears my 285/70R16 Nitto Trail Grapplers (not to be confused with 285/75R16) on 16x8 -12 offset wheels at full compression after some easy plastic trimming. I would say it's probably best longevity wise to just level the front. Also if you do that, I'm not sure on the 3rd gens but my 2nd gen's CV boot fins arent even touching, so there shouldn't be any wear issues in the long run either. Bottom line is that either way you should be fine, but may encounter some more issues with the full lift vs just the adjustable struts on the front. Hope that helps!

Take some before and after measurements when you get them to the setting or settings you like. At Stock height, should set now at 2" higher in the rear vs. front. If you are ok with a level ride set the front accordingly maybe the 2nd or 3rd ring?

Also- a 1.5" leaf pack shouldn't mess with the driveline geometry too much. If you feel shudder/vibration, you can always use center carrier bearing spacers to help like what OM-Emu makes

awesome, thanks guys. Is leveling the front essentially what the tacoma PRO is? I know the front is 1" higher.

The 1" PRO front lift will still have a slight rake, with rear being a bit higher. If all you need is 1", just save the money on the shocks and do a 1" top hat spacer keep the original shocks and springs. Your geometry will still be fine with the stock leaf pack in the rear. Just some thoughts since a 1" lift isn't drastic. Most guys get those shocks for 2-2.5" front end lifts to stuff even a bigger tire in.

I already bought the shocks. I want an suspension upgrade as well so I don't mind. Just more about doing the whole lift, or just the front end for now.
