    Best goat Ive had was actually in Afghanistan. Shared some stew with locals, it put DFAC food to shame by far.
    As far as cockroach milk, you gotta try it. You may like it. Then let us know, because I sure as F wont be.

    My best goat was in Saudi Arabia, cooked up by a couple of Turks in a hole-in-the-wall dive that only third-country nationals ate at. Apparently they saved the good stuff for themselves and gave the Saudis the crap.

    That’s a lesson for us all.

    Met a bunch of them, and Syrians, Egyptians, Lebanese, and Palestinians. All of them extremely kind and polite folks quick to share what they had and scream at the TV watching soccer.

    The only people I couldn’t stand in all the times I went through the Middle East were the Saudis and Kuwaitis. The rest were decent folk trying to get by.
