I'm getting the pro for the exclusivity of it - and the FOX shocks. ;)

Just my opinion but it depends on your intent with the truck from a “build” perspective.
The TRD Pro additions might not be a good investment for you if you’re going to build or lift it, as those parts would mostly get replaced.
For me I have build plans so I went with an OffRoad + tech + premium package.

If you’re taller than 6’-1” the head room will be an issue with the moonroof in the Pro.

You can’t go wrong. The only mechanical difference is the Fox shocks. I went with a Pro because I thought it looked a little nicer. YMMV.

I think the exhaust is different as well. But the exterior styling and the interior helped sway me

To me its not worth the extra 12k
Especially since i was going to lift it anyways
You can still get fox shocks for a lifted truck
Depends on what you want to do

Get an Off Road and put these in for less money than the waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy overpriced Fox Shocks. Again just my opinion but $3300.00 for non adjustable shocks I think not.

In 2016 I would have have got the pro cause leather.
Now that the offroad has optional leather and JBL with moonroof and tech/premium.
Today it would be off road all the way. Then invest in some good suspension.
    Wish I had leather.

    Get a Sport.

Hey, someone needed to say it...…………………….. :crapstorm::anonymous::bananadance:

Seriously, comes down to how you perceive the value. I've got an Offroad, but it's a daily driver and beach vehicle. If it was going to be my sole vehicle, I'd have gotten a Pro. Love the look, especially the wheels.

Regarding mods - I learned a very valuable lesson with my former 370Z - the law of unintended circumstances. Numerous times, installing a mod created a problem to address that created a problem to address...…….. I could write a book on it.

Either way, you can't go wrong with a Tacoma. It's not a sports car, but it is an extremely reliable, usable vehicle with great build quality and resale value.

Good Luck and keep us posted on what you decide.

Isn't the pro basically a sport with better off-road stuff than the off-road model?

I'd get the OR if it was me. The suspension might be great on a Pro but I would plan to lift it 2-3". With that in mind, why pay extra for the Fox Suspension. I'm not a huge fan of the wheels on the PRO either. Leather and heat is great but could be added if needed on the OR.

That's the way I see it.

If you plan on lifting and dont like leather heated seats+sunroof/JBL, i would recommend OR

If want something all done then get a PRO

Dont listen to the save $10k or $12 and buy a OR

Consider a 2019 OR is $39,800 MSRP with premium/tech package and PRO is under $44k
That leaves you really only $4200... more if you get some off MSRP of an OR
    $3500 lift +install/alignment
    PRO TRD wheels
    PRO grille
    PRO TRD rock guard
    PRO shifter
    PRO exhaust
    LED fog lights
    Skewp
    Painted bumper covers
Plus any install times, shipping/taxes etc
    +Anything missed
-PRO resale value higher, mods never return your money

Of course this list is ALL optional but there is value
