    Rear axle seal?

Top off the diff oil and drive it. Won't be a problem, but you probably won't have functional rear brakes. Just be a bit cautious.

Installed an Artec Industries battery box. Picked up two of these boxes for $25 each. After looking at the stock battery mounting hardware going for roughly $40 and/or the billet battery tie downs going for $80 a pop, these boxes seemed like a no brainer. Just had to drill 4 holes in the stock battery mount, and then I used some large washers on the backside to keep the thin sheetmetal intact. I’m redoing my dual battery system with a battery on each side of the truck, rather than both on the drivers side. With that said, my Columbia Overland dual battery box is for sale.

Thanks guys. Happened one time today, again at highway speed in 2wd.

Worked just fine in 4wd, though I think there may be a little additional nose in 4hi than I've had in the past (what i'd describe as a soft ticking, where I could barely tell I was in 4hi previously).

When it happened today, I pushed in the clutch as usual, put it in neutral and then felt the 4wd jshift. I could definitely (I believe) feel it there, so I put that into neutral. Could still feel it and it didn't seem to relieve the problem until I slowed and it disengaged.

If I had to bet though, I think it's tcase related - as though 4lo (or part of 4lo) is being engaged/nearly engaged "incorrectly" because something "slips out of place" and engages/starts spinning (And even though the jshift is still in 2wd).

Seems like slowing down let's the "thing" slip back into place, at the time I hear the clunk, at which point it is no longer spinning, so the bearing like sound goes away.

Not sure if what I described has anything to do with the ADD that was talked about today above - not that it doesn't, just that I don't know enough to say how it relates to the tcase, except that I know the tcase and ADD "connect" through the diff.

Anyway, just thought I'd post the update. Thanks again.

All this talk of lower ball joint failure has me pricing some out. PO liked to buy aftermarket garbage... so maybe I should invest saying I’m going to do my 5100 suspension install whenever I have free time. Wanna keep those wheels attached!

Installed some trail gear rock sliders. Cut them 1 3/4' and welded them back together so they don't stick out so much and don't get hung up. Decided to do bolt on because you never know when you need to take them off to do work or re paint them. All in all came out great and definitely sturdy enough to jack up on. Getting them sand blasted and powder coated black on Monday!

Yeah either way I couldn't get an outer off an inner once. Sucked. Ended up cutting it in half I think.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Anyone have any suggestions on transmission mounts?

Is there a heavy duty, or upgraded aftermarket mount for an A340F.

4x innovations makes an upgraded trans mount but this is one place where you do all or none, engine mounts should be poly too if you're going to do the trans. Otherwise you encounter the power walking to the next easier thing to break.
