AEV = 6 figure msrp though...

if they want 43k for a none aev colorado, you can rest assure the aev will be well north of 80k if you pick up the diesel option

take a look at some of the aev prepped rams and or wranglers out there being offered right off the showroom floor at select mopar dealerships

toyota could easily offer us here a diesel engine triple locked with factory winch, if they can offer land cruisers with these options over seas no reason they couldn't here

    arbitrary rules and regulations

I thought the "Desert air intake" was a good step for Toyota. First vehicle I know of in the US w/ a factory snorkel. From what I've seen, the raptor sells well and that proves that crazy trucks have a market here. I just don't think there's a huge profitable market for off road ready trucks w/ all of the above said options. Look at the wrangler. 9/10 wrangers are either stock or modified to look "pretty". Very few that would leave the pavement. It looks like a confusing market..

Yeah, I wouldn’t BUY one. Same as I wouldn’t ever buy a Pro. I already made the mistake of starting with a $35k truck

I never planned to go as far as I did with my truck TBH. I leased the damned thing at first. Wasn’t going to touch it...

My next vehicle will be a diesel. It’ll be a BIG diesel though so I can tow both of our toys. So, it will not be a Toyota.

I just got back from a cross country road trip in a diesel... After taking a cross country road trip in the tacoma a couple years back...

feck man what a difference as far as leaving it on cruise control and letting the thing do its own work getting up and over mountain passes

For now I’m focusing my savings on a future twin turbo setup, but if I do get around to long travel, it’d probably be a dirt king kit or a total chaos kit with kings

Gas or Diesel, forced injection does not care about altitude.

yea to be honest it is no comparison at all

the sprinter is turbo with an auto trans my taco is na with manual

none the less, what a drastic difference between the two, I felt way less taxed as a driver after long stints rolling down 80

it just felt like i was driving a train at times, little to no input from the driver

think of it more like the trd parts options that are available, you could put any single trd part on a the off road model as an option or you could have bought the tx pro / trd pro package that already comes with the entire trd option booklet thrown an on off road model

thats the way i see it i think, the bison will prob have the entire book thrown at it with cute badges where as you can prob order a colorado and special order a ton of aev stuff before taking delivery just as well

No. Forced induction 100% cares about altitude.

I’ve seen as much as 12.5 PSI with my 2.55” pulley here. At 9,500 feet I could make about 1.5 PSI locked up in fourth climbing the Rockies.

At 11,000 feet there was zero boost.

Forced induction mitigates the effects of altitude. An NA engine would have fallen flat on it's face.
The type of induction determines the service ceiling. I.e. jets go higher than turbo props
